This would be perfect for me, if only it had flash support and Android 2.2!

u can use the skyfire web browser with 2.1 which will give u access to loads of flash sites but not all to be fair, also if u read here addictivetips.com/mob…es/ this may or may not help cos ive never tried it so not sure if would help with this particular tablet

If this is anything like the 7inch, it's awful. Had the 7 inch version, i know thats 1.6 android but it was appaling. Returned it immediately.

It's gonna get knocked for being 'Resistive' but I'm not voting either way.

I know, but find me a capacitive 10" for that price...:/

They are reportedly working on 2.2 but as it's not greatly reduced I'd be tempted to wait til it's done.

No video out by the looks of things

OH has this and it is much better than the 7 inch version we tried.

Yep - Resistive Screen, avoid. The t-mobile pulse mini is/was a great phone except they added a resistive screen, once you have used a capacitance screen i.e, Orange San Francisco - you would never go back. Either wait for capacitance or if you're really desperate for a tablet - buy a basic ipad (hook it up to a three mifi device-saves having to have separate mobile broadband billing). The ipad doesn't have any competition at the moment (and this is not from a apple fan), currently is the best by far, and for the technology you've getting - it isn't that expensive (well in Apple terms) - is a more practical purchase (if your desperate that is) - does what is says on the tin.

Love it or hate it - Apple have this market sewn up at the mo.

I have an iPad and yes it's very very good, but I was pretty impressed with the resistive screen on the elonex 10" etouch.

Yeah I picked one up yesterday and its going back today....the resistive screen is awful, you touch one letter and another appears. Works better with a stylus but too buggy, slow and nothing would run on it other than the built in apps... if the ten inch is better good luck but dont expect too much

Well from my experience the 10" is obviously much better as I can use it with no problems and downloads loads of diff games and apps from marketplace with no issues. Keyboard is fine as well and types with no problems. It is running a faster processor in the 10" as well, so maybe that helps?

Obviously the 7" is NOT the one to go for

l had 2 10" elonex tabs from toys r us and they've both gone back , kept freezing , it had more hard resets than than use , think l'm gonna give the vega a try,

My one hasnt so must be lucky!

@melmorc
have you tried calibrating the touch screen?

I came across this guide yesterday, this guy looks like he knows what he is talking about.

Everyone always says this, but I've discovered today that they don't really know what they're talking about. You'd be surprised at the quality of some of the newer resistive screens.

Basically people are letting their experiences with early resistive technology to cloud their judgement. It's like someone saying "don't get an LCD screen - the refresh rate is terrible, AVOID. Get a CRT display".

For instance, today I was in Maplins trying out their tablets - and the CnM Touchpad II had a VERY responsive touchscreen. I was only lightly pressing, and it was responding very quickly. I compared this to the old Scroll 7" (1st gen), which was very unresponsive and needed a good prodding to do anything. (we were trying to get movies to work on either model, so with the Scroll I was using a soft ended pen as a stylus, but the CnM Touchpad II was very usable). Neither unit had been calibrated for use as far as I could tell, but the difference was clear.

Right... I bought one from ASDA yesterday, £139 all in.
Got it home and I was quite impressed. Well for the price it's not going to be brush aluminium!!!

It does run Android 2.2 (I can confirm that)

The screen angle was narrow, but perfectly clear and readable. It was light and the touch screen felt sturdy enough to last. What was annoying was that eth Wi-Fi would bot connect, even 6 feet from the router. Not matter what I tried. So fault WiFi??

So went back to ASDA just now and tried to swap it. They refunded me OK. But they could not sell me a new one at any till; even a manager couldn’t override it. It was not for sale?? No-one knew why. It’s a shame coz I was looking forwards to using one.

Might order one online for store pickup if another ASDA can’t sell one to me tonight on my way home.

What a pity ASDA have withdrawn all of these from sale because of technical issues.

I just had a look in my local store at them, and was told ALL the tablets (7" Elonex, 10" Elonex and Binatone) have been recalled from shop stock and told not to sell them, he did say updated versions are coming this Friday from an e-mail he recieved, I will report back with my findings as I will pop back in to my local store on Friday.

Still no news on these at any Warrington/Leigh or Birchwood ASDA stores.
They don't have any idea when they will restock them either.
Guess I'll give up.
