They announced something about VAT free something a few minutes ago in store. Could possibly be this as it seems to have dropped by 20%?
Not sure if anything else.

-VAT != 20%off

/can o'worms.

emachines = worst machines ever

But in this case £143.20 / 0.80 == £179.00.

But £143.20 * 1.20 does not == £179.00. So technically it is 20% off, but not removing the vat.

the brand doesnt matter, the components do, these are no different to that of an acer etc.

good price for a normal specced netbook. hot from me.

If I had the spare loot I would take a punt with this.

Does this actually make E's .I want oneo O

The brand doesnt matter? lol well no, but build quality and screen quality does... they will always have a shorter life then other brands and are hard to get parts for

Out of interest, if you put eMachines EM250 as a search term into Amazon, amongst the results are no less than 7 separate listings for a replacement screen panel on these!

Is this a weakness on them? Seems a little suspicious to me that so many different firms are selling them [replacement screens] if not...

amazon.co.uk/s/r…=19

I got one of their i3 laptops from Sainsbury’s on a deal early this month and very pleased with the spec and quality.

This is a good deal.

Of course the brand matters, my experience with any emachines has always been horrible, several friends have had one, they actually change the build of the case to ensure you can not replace anything with normal components, the screws don't line up etc the monitors i've seen have a different power connector, to ensure you can't just go and replace it with a standard one.

Be warned emachines do completely unnecessary things in order to put you out of money of time, my advice is to stay far far away.

This is exactly the same build as the Acer D250 previously posted...

Just different manufacturer name on it

minus one drawback (if you could call it that) - no android
