"You probably won't have heard about this phone, but for the price it truly is an amazing device. It's £49.99 on Orange pay as you go at the Link. Delivery is free. If you have any old (but working) handset to trade-in you'll be given £10 for it, so you're paying just £34.99." - Thanks duck!

"The Emblaze Touch 7 isn't the company's first mobile phone product, but it's one of the most interesting, both from a technical perspective and for the fact that it gives Emblaze a good change at a market breakthrough.

To look at, the Emblaze Touch 7 is a smart looking handset, but perhaps a little derivative in its styling. Underneath, this is a tri-band GSM phone with a 176x220 pixel TFT display in 262,000 colours, a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth, an MP3/multimedia player and expandable memory.

The internal memory on the Emblaze Touch 7 is 64Mb, and this can be expanded by using what Emblaze called "micro-flash" memory, which we assume to mean microSD/TransFlash cards. Other features on the Emblaze Touch 7 include a loudspeaker function, WAP 2.0 browsers, wallpapers and Java support for games.

Perhaps the specification of the Emblaze Touch 7 looks a little unremarkable, but this handset is pitched at the value-for-money end of the market, and it should cost around £60/100 for pay-as-you-go/prepay customers. It's also a smart looking device that looks more expensive than it actually is, and is distinctive enough to make it stand out from a lot of the competition.

Initially, the Emblaze Touch 7 will be available through Currys and Currys.digital stores in the UK, followed by other retailers later. For UK customers, the Touch 7 should be available before Christmas, and the specifications mark it out as an appealing and good value for money device."

Yeah, high spec phone for a low-end price!! Anyone I know who has one sings praises about it.

I dont follow what phones are made but why do they all have cameras?

I would rather them be lighter, cheaper and not have a camera built in.

seems a good deal btw

At least £5 cheaper than the previous price, I think

If only i could get it onto o2, my battery on my SE is really crap at the moment and this would be a ideal replacement for a year..

So no way at all for it to be unlocked?

Erm...... they are unlocked! :santa:

Reason being they were never an Orange approved handset, hence no Orange network lock, no Orange branding, no Orange nothing..... except the sim :santa:

This is a basic cheap good looking phone with no camera:

for £37.99 Delivered.

I agree sonygeezer. No point in having a crap camera just for the sake of it.

This Nokia 6030 without camera for £24.99 delivered is a great buy

Not sure if this offer is available @ the shop but I guess it will be. Expect to pay £49.99 and £10 back via trade-in.

Thats not a problem, Would be worth the £40 I reckon, plus its payday tomorow, so I can blow a few quid

Ive had loads of phones over the years and this phone is one of the best. Its small, does loads of stuff, its unlocked and its cheap.Theres three of us using these in our house, one`s on orange, one on O2 and im on Virgin.

I know this may seem an odd question but - what charger do they use, their own, USB or someone else's. I understand you can charge it from a USB cable supplied with it but is the cable a standard USB one end and mini USB the other, or is it specific for the phone?

Thanks

You get a plug in charger and a Usb lead which also charges these phones

Thanks Falcon65 - I wanted to know what type of USB cable is it - is it a standard type USB with the mini USB to plug in the phone, or is it specific to this phone (with an 'emblaze' specific end)?

It is just that my V3 uses a standard USB cable (mini one end) so I don't have to carry a specific cable for the phone (if I left it at home for example) - any USB cable with the mini plug will do. Its a VERY useful feature which I want in my next phone.

The Usb lead is specific to this phone but you can buy spare leads off the Emblaze homepage.:)

Probably not, I seem to recall that the Link shops now belong to 02, not the same owners as the Link Website. ( Dixon/Currys etc. )

All highly confusing.

I think DSG have done a similar think with The Link as with Dixons - rebranded the stores (or sold them in this case) and kept the website brand going.

This seems like a great deal - I've ordered one. Will be nice as a spare.
Now off to search my house for the crappiest old but working phone as a trade-in :giggle:
