Was in the Dundee City Centre main Post Office today picking up a form and spotted one of these reduced from £49.95. Only places I can find on the web want £70 for these. Very good price for an NXT based system, think of it as a Bose SoundDock on the (very) cheap, possibly with some actual bass as a bonus!

My first deal BTW, hope I did everything correctly. And BE NICE :-D

Thanks for the pointer Do you know if these are available nationwide? Thanks ;-)

Welcome to hotUKDeals by the way and your first deal post is just fine Thanks

Seems a good deal to me if you can get them nationwide. Though as I have NXT speakers they are usually shy on the bass, which is why mine came with a subwoofer.

Hey, Nookster! I just work around the corner from there, dude! I'll check in tomorrow and have a look...

Emerson is a really old brand. I remember having an Emerson Arcadia video console in the early 80s!

Good tip!

Heh, small world!

I've no clue if any other Post Office Shops have these rayman, hopefully people will post back tomorrow if they find any. If I hadn't got the Argos iPod clock radio the other month I would have snapped this up, a proper iPod charging dock for this price is a steal IMHO.

wordsworth makes a good point about NXTs and (lack of) bass response, I doubt the Maxx Bass™ will do much, but you can always try sticking it in a corner or in a shelf recess to give it some oomph. Got no highs, got no lows... must be a Bose knock-off :giggle:

Kanester, I only saw one on the shelf, in full view to the left if your in the queue, you might want to get there early! If anyone snags one of these, please let us know what it's like

After a bit of research that suspicious looking hole at the bottom in the side view appears to be a USB port (B-type I'm guessing). This thing gets better and better...

If I remember I will check to see it if they have it in Norwich

Will this only be at main post offices / city centre, do you reckon? Looks great.... my kitchen is telling me it needs one!!

My Two Pen`th. They have them in the Norwich Main Post Office

durranp, nice to meet someone else from norwich. yeah I check there and they have them. I noticed that it does have usb for connecting to a computer which must mean that it has its own soundcard otherwise it could only connect via the audio on the computers card. This is a nice bonus.

I just bought one of these from Bromley P.O in S.E London.

Fantastic value for money, sound quality is excellent especially for the price. So good in fact that I registered just to let everyone know!

Also, it's not just central P.O that have these but theoretically any P.O with a POST SHOP.

If you go on www.postoffice.co.uk and search for your nearest P.O with a POST SHOP then you should be set to go.

Good luck

Welcome to HotUKDeals Banterlicious and durranp Also Thanks for the feedback all ;-)

I don't think that the USB port does anything more complicated than synching music/podcasts/movies etc. Just a simple data port going to the dock connector, which saves you unplugging to update your iPod.

Great to see that this is nationwide. Rate this one hot and save people from themselves - like the person that paid over twenty quid just this morning for an opened one on ebay!

OK. So I popped into the PO after work, found out that they just received 10 of em. So I caved and bought one.

In short:

For it size, it's LOUD. Louder than the Argos Clock Radio. Really.

It has loads of Bass, too much actually. I had to turn the iPod EQ on and select Bass Reducer when the volume was cranked. Having against a wall or having it below ear level does knock the Bass down a fair bit though, an NXT™ thing I'm guessing.

It's got a class D amp rated at 10 Watts per channel, it doesn't say but I'll bet that's RMS and not PMPO.

I don't really need this, but I'm justifying it as an iTunes sync-dock and charger that pumps out sounds as a bonus.

If anyone wants pics of it, let me know and I'll be happy to oblige to post a few up of it and all it's accessories etc.

Great spot Nookster! Wife popped into Ward Road PO this morning and got a couple, one for a colleague and one for me. It's sitting in the kitchen and I've just cranked it up - I'm happy with it. :-D
