Groupon wouldn't sell counterfeit goods at a guess.

Groupon doesn't selk anything...

Not Groupon that is selling the goods, its a third party who could be a total rogue, as far as Groupon are concerned they sell you a voucher which they will send you. what the good supplier sends is another thing. I would check around for better prices as often the 'saving' is a load of BS

Check the website that these come from: Dynergy.

These 'Armani ' shirts are the only clothing items they sell. Website looks like the internet equivalent of a market stall in a remote town in a country that isn't too bothered about chasing copyright infringement

Do an image URL search on Google and you won't find that model posing in that shirt anywhere else.

Summary: not convinced these shirts are the real deal, unless a retail employee at Armani, Selfridges, etc. can vouch for them?

it does look dodgy, you would hope groupon would have done back up checks as it's their reputation too but ya never know...

Purchased a slightly different one from this website the other day

groupon.co.uk/dea…129

Would be very supprised if it is genuine. Quality is far below what I expected!

Groupon have been on Watchdog for selling deals that are not fulfilled and not always above board.
They're just a middleman, so quality control isn't assured.

I ordered a different one from this company on 7th June still haven't received it. To be honest these look fake and if they are I will be instructed my credit card company to process a refund.

What difference does it make?

Looks too good to be true. I have asked Groupon to verify these are genuine. Not holding my breath.

received mine it looks extremely questionable the main thing being the label inside isn't even straight, Ive also been informed by a reliable source these are replicas
I have contacted the supplier to be told there not refunding me just because I don't think there genuine haha, although there returns policy doesn't seem to have any circumstances things not able to return

so to summarise if you bought one, id return it

I received mine yesterday, in my opinion the shirt is fake...very light material, dodgy stitching, labels crooked...just doesnt look like a designer shirt.

Another point, Dynergy i think sold circa 9000 units of this shirt, what company has this many shirts in stock?!

They are fake i received mine yesterday and have had it confirmed at Armani store in london that they are fake. youtube.com/wat…JCk confirms its fake and they are a company selling from a flat not even a shop. 192.com/ato…mp/. Told them about this via email awaiting there response.

Anyone tried to send it back? I was told by them they wouldnt accept my return on the basis i thought it was fake an i should contact armani, dont quite know what they want me to say to armani, but i rang groupon an they said theyd tell them to contact me with a returns within 10 days or theyll have to do something else an refund me another way which will be more drawn out, also if youve noticed there returns policy is only 7 days so act fast so they dont try an claim its been longer than 7 days an returns is void

Took a punt on this and confirm as fake as others have said.
Stitching on labels questionable but the real giveaway is the COA. The words GIORGIO ARMANI have been pressed on rather than using Security Border technique.

If they are fake, I apologise for posting the deal - it's a scandal and Groupon should be banned from this site.

Anyone have any luck with a return? Contacted groupon but as I suspected was fobbed off to Dynergy.

How much do people reckon knockoff shirts would cost a piece if buying 9000, tenner maybe?
Thats £225000 before groupons cut.
Looks like they have sold a load of knockoff Armani previously
Certainly is a scandal, criminal infact.

Received mine today. The labels are straight. Certificate of authenticity is also fine. I saw a made in Turkey label on it which was a surprise to me but when I did some research I found out that some Armani is made in Turkey. Hence maybe the quality control is poor or these are b grades or something. Anyway I emailed groupon last week and they said it is authentic Armani. I'll be emailing Armani customer services with pictures of the shirt for them to confirm if fake or not as I wouldn't just go with what someone in a store says as most of them working there are lazy or don't know what they are doing anyway.

Look at the small GA in the logo on labels, is it legible? Mine is not, there's no fine detail whatsoever.
Also you said the COA is fine, have you compared it to a real one? My COA is plain card and has been pressed with GIORGIO ARMANI and the "I" is missing. Shouldn't simply be pressed, the text is actually built up with tiny fibres.
Apparently the COA has a few security features.

Out of curiosity do we all have the same COA serial?

Edited by: "callum84" 30th Jun 2013

i strongly believe these are fake, stitching and fabric arent gr8 so theres no question. we all need to hound groupon because they do have a responsibility. this is the second duff deal iv had although iv had plenty of good ones. will contact watchdog also.

I think I need to look at mine again properly as I just took a quick look as was busy on the weekend. I think I'll just ask my credit card to get me a refund.

They shouldn't be allowed to sell this b*******s

Received a reply from Dynergy. Ive to post shirt back in original packaging with a copy of my voucher for a refund. Will pack it up and send back later.

So I received my shirt the other day. At first I thought it was fake. I contact Groupon who said they do not sell knock off gear. I then contacted Armani who advised me that these shirts were only sold by Armani for a short period of time. They then decided to pull this style of shirt. I was also told that similar designs are available in TK Max. They have confirmed that these shirts are real and were bought from one of there authorized distributors.

The quality of the shirt doesn't look like the standard Armani quality. I guess this is why they stopped selling this style.

I've emailed the head office with the pictures of the shirt and am waiting for a reply from them. Who did you contact in Armani or did you go into a store?

So why is the COA thats printed by Fedrigoni Cartiere S.P.A and used across all armani products wrong?
1 - Its on the wrong card
2 - Has wrong security features, GIORGIO ARMANI has been pressed/stamped on when it should be built up with tiny fibres making the words part of the card itself and only visible on one side. Technique called Security Borders.
3 - The prefix to serial should not be black, it should be olive green and the rest of serial black.
4 - The wording on center of serial side should be in olive green, not black.
5 - The text at the bottom FEDRIGONI CARTIERE S.P.A should much smaller (Microprinting)
6 - The COA should be a 2 page booklet type.

Heres one of my genuine Armani COA, notice the differences???

I dont for one minute believe armani made those shirts, they wouldn't risk their reputation on that garbage.
How did you contact Armani? Please provide details.
Find it a bit odd that 1, you signed up to provide the only defense of shirts and 2, you contacted Groupon, then Armani and not the merchant.

I emailed merchant today n am waiting for reply called groupon who said im the first person to call them in degards to this they will look into it but have had no other complaints I told them if I don't hear from the merchant or groupon do not refund me I will go to paypal to sort it out as I always pay through them n barcodes seem to be the same in all shirts this is defo a fake n groupin should b ashamed anyone thought to contact watchdog

Received mine Friday and before I even opened the package I knew they where fake. These are not worth £10 yet alone the £129 rrp advertised at. Contacted them for a return number the told me I can't return them( what a surprise). Contacted groupon said I had to wait up to ten days for a reply. Don't even waste your time going to armani you will only look stupid taking these very poor quality shirts in to confirm they are fake.

Haha mrslais groupon said the same thing to me when i rang them on friday but they did however have to go check something while on the phone im guessing theyve been bombarded with complaints

I phoned groupon yesterday who said they would investigate. Received this email from them today.

Hi ,
Thanks for getting in touch.
Sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced, and thanks for letting us know about the situation. I have now escalated the matter to our partner managers, who talk to the partner business on our behalf. The partner managers will look into the issue, and we'll email you as soon as we have any new information. But don't worry! We'll make sure that you don't lose out on the money that you've spent with us.
If you don't receive an email in the next week or so, or if you have any questions, just let me know by replying to this email. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Kind regards,

Had a few missed calls and email from Groupon the other day, they were looking for a sample from a customer so they can investigate further.
Was about to send back to merchant, but readdressed parcel and its now on its way to Groupons quality assurance department.

Glad to see they are taking action.

Has anybody received a refund for this yet?

Been sending emails back and forth with Groupon for over a week now and they're still only offering me "Groupon Credit". Sod Groupon Credit, this was my first purchase with them and will probably be my last.

I want a refund!

I have just received this message below

I am emailing you in regards to your order with Dynergy.

I have now cancelled your Groupon for Dynergy and refunded the amount of £34.99 back to your method of payment. Dynergy has already been informed that this Groupon is no longer valid. Please allow up to 3 to 5 working days for the payment to clear back to your account.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this has caused and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Kind regards,

Hope everyone gets there money back

Whats the best (or only) returns process? Deal with Dynergy and then speak to Group if any problems?

They told me to wait 10 working days for the company to contact me they never did, rang up again an they said they had alot of complaints an that theyd refund me the money straight back onto my card within 3-5 days an i dont have to send the item back (not that i really want it) but it seems to be all good if the money goes back into my account
