This is amazing stuff. I find it much better than other toothpastes. At this price you can't go wrong. Hot from me.
Sounds like misadvertising as you cant repair enamel.Once it's gone it's gone.
Thankyou for the heat .. It is good quality stuff , and i know you cant fix enamel but it helps protect it and takes the sensitivity away
Thought the title said pro REPAIR not pro HELP PROTECT
Enamel is white and the bone iunderneath is yellow, once you lose your tooth enamel you will no londer have white teeth.

The calcium and other minerals patch any holes in the enamel, once hardened it's an enamel-like substance that lasts/wears in the very much the same way as enamel would. So yes, you're right in that you can't replace lost enamel with new enamel, but this slowly repairs any gaps with something similar. Think of it as a puncture repair kit, you're not replacing the hole in the inner tube with like-for-like, but the liquid rubber-glue and patch still stop the air from getting out.

Thanks to the OP for posting this some people like it. I think it tastes awful and some of the other "Sensitive" toothpastes cost a fortune. Morrison's do their own brand Sensitive 12 Hour action 100ml tube for about a quid, I have been using it for a few years just as good as Sensodyne.

That's not true, check out Novamin which I believe is in some Sensodyne toothpaste. Has research to backup remineralising teeth.

Nice smile cossy3 ;D
I have been using Sensodyne for a few years now and works for me. That said it is expensive and I will certainly be paying Lidls a visit for this. Thankyou and HOT

Thank you. Not heard of it before but will look out for it in the future. I've been told I brush too hard. My teeth are becoming translucent.

You'll easily know because they will advertise it on the packaging to show off. You can feel privileged because the US can only get it from their dentists at 10x the price!
This Arm and Hammer toothpaste does not contain Novamin (calcium sodium phosphosilicate) - it contains what they call 'Liquid Calcium'. It's a trademarked combination of ingredients with some carefully worded claims - but precious little evidence of anything worthwhile.

Novamin does have some backing, however (see below).

Which? was unimpressed with Arm and Hammer and Sensodyne Pronamel:

Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Protection: 'Strengthens and re-hardens enamel. Protects teeth from the effects of acid wear.'

Arm & Hammer Enamel Pro Repair Whiteningwith Baking Soda and Liquid Calcium: 'Restores natural whiteness and helps prevent erosion... the only toothpaste that also restores your surface enamel...'

If you're worried about your tooth enamel, you could try either of these speciality toothpastes. One of our experts thought the enamel erosion evidence for the Sensodyne paste was better. But there's limited evidence you'd see a meaningful advantage over standard fluoride toothpaste.

Which? also says:

In some pastes the key ingredient for reducing sensitivity is potassium nitrate. Research shows potassium nitrate reduces sensitivity over time, as do pastes including stannous fluoride, arginine and calcium sodium phosphosilicate (NovaMin).

Different sensitivity-reducing ingredients work for different people, so try a different active ingredient if your toothpaste isn't helping. To reduce sensitivity, limit acidic foods and avoid tooth-brushing straight after eating
.
The major brands that have toothpastes claiming to repair enamel usually have their own unique ingredient, e.g. NovaMin in Sensodyne. As the makeup of these unique ingredients are specific to those manufacturers, and subsequently trademarked, you won't find them in more than the one brand. Regenerate is manufactured by Unilever, but has a much more premium positioning. Whether any of these toothpastes actually deliver on their promises in the real world is open to question, but as with most things, if you feel it works for you then that is all that matters. As far as Arm & Hammer toothpastes are concerned, I would avoid using a sensitive toothpaste that contains an abrasive ingredient such as Bicarbonate of Soda.
