Seems a good deal, however, I'm sure a battery geek will confirm, but aren't the 'mAh' numbers a bit low?

This is a good deal if you were after the converters

I'm no battery geek, but the problem with these is that they are NiCad not NiMh, so very inferior technology. Low capacity, short life and 'memory effect'. If you only want these for low drain devices then I suppose it isn't a bad deal, the C and D adapters are worth a couple of quid.

Obsolete stock from the back of the warehouse. Could vote cold as I think it is poor value, however I don't know where you could buy cheaper so I won't.

A decent AA NiMh cell will be rated 2400 to 2700 mAH, I think AAAs are about 850-1000.

No, you're not a battery geek! :-D Good knowledge btw.

think it a good deal for the C & D convertors.

Not very often I get a laugh on a bttery thread! :-)

Sorry, this is a RARE example of something that is more trouble than it is worth, and you would be better not to buy it at all!

OK, you could keep the cheap charger,& keep the converters in case you need them, but you would need to dispose of the NiCd batteries wherever your local council lets you - the serious potential polluting effect of the NiCds makes this deal cold in it's own right, as they are NO USE to man nor beast nowadays: low power, run out quickly, not useable in many devices at all - they just won't run them, they are hard to charge fully, they need running flat before recharge, and a positive bind: Exactly the sort of rechargeables that put people off using them at all - completely outmoded now, and you would probably end up spending more money driving to the council tip to get rid of them responsibly; that is, IF they have anywhere you can dispose of them properly and safely. The alternative is to put them in the bin and pollute, which is why it would be better not to buy them at all :-(

Have a look at the other numerous rechargeable battery offers on the site (the New technology Hybrio/Recycko type are by far the best ones to look for), there are quite a few threads at the moment, and they are all better, and if you need a charger, then My memory and others have them instead of this, with or without batteries included.
This item is just a retailer clearing their old junk out, they would be better opening the packs and selling off the chargers separately, at least then they could dump the NiCds safely in one go!

Ordered - hot!
