In their mission to abide by their oath to serve and protect, Officer Brian Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Officer Mike Zavala (Michael Peña) have formed a powerful brotherhood to ensure they both go home at the END OF WATCH. The only guarantee for these officers is that there are no guarantees when patrolling the streets of South Central, Los Angeles.

Danger presents itself to the dedicated duo daily, and soon the pair find themselves inadvertently targets of powerful cartels.

Between the blue lights, blaring sirens and adrenaline pumping action thrives an honest and often humorous banter between partners who spend most of their days in a police car awaiting the next call. The officers have formed a bond that allows them to function as a unit in the face of danger, knowing full well, at any moment, they could be called on to lay down their lives.

The vivid action unfolds entirely through footage of handheld cameras shot from the point of view of police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, dash cams, and citizens caught in the line of fire. This 360° perspective creates a riveting and immediate portrait of the city’s darkest, most violent streets and back alleys, and the brave men and women patrolling them.

Writer/Director/Producer David Ayer (TRAINING DAY) was driven to get the story of Los Angeles cops “right,” and open a window into a rarely seen world of law enforcement for all its truth, grit and compassion. Produced by John Lesher, Nigel Sinclair and Matt Jackson, with a cast headed by Gyllenhaal and Peña, and featuring Anna Kendrick and America Ferrera, END OF WATCH is a powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage

great movie

Great film, and good price - heat added.

Will wait 'til it's a couple quid cheaper, though, personally.

Banned

good film. crap ending.

Excellent movie.

Mediocre film, you never truly believe the friendship the two lead characters have and the plot is all over the place. May as well have been an episode of NYPD Blue.

Agree with Bushes. Decidedly average film. Also the camera style doesn't make sense who's filming them like that in the bedroom?!

Best scene from the movie.

Great movie!

Watched this on a flight to LA. Kept well clear of South Central on my way out of the city...

Loved this film. Wouldn't mind seeing it again, thanks

spoiler alert reading these comments haha

Really enjoyed this film

I would not bother with this movie - it's average in almost every aspect (acting, plot etc).
(But it may be just me - I hated Drive with a passion

Hated Drive too!

Some right old weirdos on here.

The film was epic. One of the very best this year.

PrivatePile you are talking a load of Pile. They were both brilliant in this Film in terms of acting.

Decent film was better then i thought it would be.Worth a watch but dont see the point in buying films.Once youve seen them thats it job done.

I really liked this film, wasn't too sure at the start but really enjoyed it. I also loved Drive.

I loved this film, but.. I found it one of those watch once type of films. Not because it's poor in any way, but because I found it so powerful I wouldn't really want to dilute it with further viewings.

Great film

Bushes

Same. Drive was rubbish

Pretty good film. If you like this, you should watch Southland.

Dont blame other people for your settling for mediocrity. If that was your best I shudder at the thought of your worst.

Hmm... I might be a weirdo, but I'm anything but old.
I don't deny they are both talented actors (esp Jake), but to me they both seemed very uncomfortable taking part in this mixture of melodramatic police drama and pseudo-realistic take on what a real policeman should be like. They are both better than this movie, leave it for The Rock. You want realism - you go and watch The Wire, there is no need for handheld cameras - it already feels very real. You're 16 and you want some action - that's it, you got your perfect add-on for the popcorn and Coke.

^ Or as the late, great Roger Ebert said, "one of the best police movies in recent years". I think I'm with Ebert on this one.
