Always been £10 not a deal, sorry.
Getting free data sounds nice now but this is going to be a very serious issue in the years to come. Today, this technology is used to give us free stuff. The same technology will be used to take away or throttle the stuff we want in the future.

We desperately need net neutrality protections before this becomes the status quo

Yes, according to the website it is only for 25 and under. OP should add this to description.
Not Clear at all but it does state in the help section it's for under 25's

Can I join VOXI if I’m over 25?

No. VOXI has been designed for people aged 25 and under.

Disagree, just because something has always been a certain price doesn't mean it's not a deal.

But its not a deal? You can get a sim for £1 which comes with the £15/month package for a month from Argos?

They don't have the one with pre loaded data any more, you have to pay for usage now, there's the odd one on eBay that has the pre loaded bundle on, assuming they bought off Argos before they ran out

So next time an item is discounted and then goes back to full price, ill post it as a “deal” and it will get heat will it? Doubt it. The title of this is misleading as well as it says was £20 (50% off) but it was never £20 ... so is not a deal ...
No way never thought something like this existed. I’m ordering immediately

I agree with you, this isn't a deal, i was just mentioning Argos don't have the others with the free usage anymore that's all
And how do you provide an incorrect date of birth?
Voxi have an offer on at the moment, endless / AYCE data on everything until 28th March. However, I'm sure when I logged in the other day, it said until 13th May, but having just checked again, it now says March 28th ! So I'll have to check that with Voxi.

Voxi will not honour / validate the £1 SIM purchased incorrectly from Argos with 15GB pre loaded. That SIM was supposed to be purchased as a bundle with a mobile phone handset. So buyer beware. Some HUKD folks who got the SIM from Argos subsequently found that out when they tried to input the code, to enable the SIM / package.

That's fair enough but that wasn't the reason you originally gave.

Bare in mind in order to get the “unlimited”
Social data use, you must still have some data left out of your package. For example if you chose the 2GB package and use it up in a week, you will not be able to use any of your social data for the rest of the month. Basically, just make sure you are purchasing enough data for your other needs.

Fill it in incorrectly when you register, I did, mine registered successfully and it's a long time since I was under 25

Apart from marketing reasons, why does voxi exist and how do they get away with the blatant age discrimination?

Its not Free. They are either using it as a loss leader to build a brand, take market share form the competition (maybe GiffGaff) or they are using your data to moneterise for example selling advertising space that you will see.

I do not think for a moment its Vodafone doing it out the goodness of their heart..
Can over 25 year old get this deal?
The name 'Voxi' itself suggests that it is for under 25
The list of social networks covered does not include data-heavy services like youtube. It's mostly text services and Instagram, I suppose twitter can carry photos too. Maybe those services are major data consumers for someone but personally they're tens of megabytes a month while youtube is gigabyes.

I'm not precious about it (as I'm sure you're not either) but this was the first thing I thought, too.

It's not as if it's marketed at students, pensioners, jobseekers - people with typically low incomes.

To say "under 25s only" does seem blatantly discriminatory.

Treat all traffic the same. That's all I was trying to say. Otherwise the Internet will end up like satellite TV where you have nothing but stale content sandwiched between obnoxious ads.

Age dicrimination is the social norm (see pensions, schools, apprenticeships, drug and alcohol restrictions, military forces, professional sport, the minimum wage and so on)

What you should really be worrying about is data traffic discrimination/prioritization. It doesn't lead to any good outcomes in the long run.

I'm talking about the unlimited social data part of the offer. Who's to say what's social and what isn't anyway.

All the items in your brackets have laws written that state the age restriction. It’s rare to nonexistent that private companies not subsided by the public purse/backed by legislation offer an age-linked deal.

How about car insurance?
RIP Net Neutrality
Good deal, until March next year
Compared to some of the stellar deals that pop up this is crap. Age restriction aside.
Is there a minimum age? I’d use it for my high school aged son - it’d save me a fair bit!
This has never ever been £20.00

Seriously? How the hell is that legal?

If I created a new virtual mobile network tomorrow but said black or gay customers weren't welcome then I'd probably end up in prison.
Am I the only one that thinks this I BS. Under 25s only.

I don't believe they check

I'm under 25 but it didn't ask me to verify my age
I don't like these deals that give you "unlimited data" for specific things, it is wholly against Net Neutrality.

True but when I signed up they didn't ask me to verify my age

Another thing Ofcom are investigating Three and Vodofone for "Possibly" breaking Net Neutrality laws, they should add discrimination

Maybe go to the media and ruin their reputation, say your a 26year old Black man who can't join Voxi phone provider because your "black"
