This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

A free 4X turn based strategy game that was released in 2012 that has “I will play one more turn” quality. It’s pretty to look at and listen to, and will run on a modest system.

Ideal for anyone bored and with plenty of time on their hands, or for anyone wanting four Steam trading cards.

You have to make an account on Amplitude Studio Games2gether website.
games2gether.com/

You can then Link your Steam account from your profile menu. And if you don’t want to keep Steam linked, after obtaining the game, then one click to delink Steam.

You redeem the game via Games2gether website by clicking of “Redeem on steam” button. It will the automatically be assigned to your steam account, so no manual entry of product key required.

There is a video review and some screenshots showing the main aspects of the game below.

I can't believe this came out in 2012, feels like yesterday.

Thanks for the deal
Cheers, worked a treat.
Heat! Thank you
Thanks. How do you unlink Steam? Can't find the option anywhere!

I dread to think how much sleep I lost playing Master of Orion back in the day

This might help if the 'redeem on steam' button dosn't appear as expected, maybe an idea to add to OP?
Took me a while to find it.

Its confusing as heck. Bad UI. Login and link your account to steam if you havent. Click the little Gift icon at the top. On this page there is a banner that says 'Full Game Love Thyself'. Just below that there is a little Love thyself and Endless space thumbnail. Click the endless space one. Then click the 'get code' or 'redeem on steam' button that appears

Synchronising Steam account might be a bit temperamental now as people are signing up hoping to get picked to test Humankind game. So website might throw up errors or not update your profile after syncing.
The original Master of Orion was one of the best games I played in the 90's. I'm hoping this is similar, but up to date

I don’t know how it compares to Master of Orion. Endless Space might be more simplistic.
