If you are looking to shift an outstanding balance from other credit cards to a 0% offer, you could get paid for a 2 year balance transfer or even get a 2 and a half year fee free balance transfer, factoring in the Barclaycard £20 balance transfer cashback offer. Also if you are looking for a decent 0% balance transfer and 0% purchase card the 27/27 combo card looks competitive. See below worked example and card options.

Worked example based on a balance transfer of £3,600 and factoring in the £20 cashback offer (£2k+ balance transfer) and making at least the monthly repayments.

  • Platinum 24 month 0% balance transfer - no fee + £20 cashback (net profit £20)
  • Platinum 0% for 30 month balance transfer - 0.55% fee + £20 cashback (net cost of £0)
  • Platinum 0% for 27 months purchase and 27 month balance transfer - 1.99 % fee + £20 cashback (net cost of £51.64 - equivalent of a 1.43% fee)
  • Platinum 0% for 33 month balance transfer - 1.95% fee + £20 cashback (net cost of £50.20 - equivalent of a 1.39% fee)

Representative example

Representative APR 19.9% APR (variable)
Purchase rate p.a.19.9% p.a.(variable)
Assumed credit limit £1,200
Annual Fee No annual fee

You may be offered a different credit limit, representative APR, purchase rate or promotional Balance Transfer period to any shown here as it depends on your individual circumstances. Subject to status.

No fee Platinum 24 Month Balance Transfer + £20 Barclaycard cashback on £2k+ Balance Transfer

The no fee balance transfer would suit someone that's looking for a reasonable 0% balance transfer length (2 years) and not paying a fee. In this instance with the £20 Barclaycard cashback on a £2k balance transfer this could be a £20 net profit. Santander offer a longer fee free 0% BT duration of 27 months but no £20 cashback.

  • 0% interest for 24 months on balance transfers made within 60 days of opening your account. Your 0% offer will start from the date you make your balance transfer. (0% fee applies)
  • A fee of 2% will be applied to your account at first, but you'll only pay 0% as we'll refund the difference
  • £20 cashback on a £2k+ balance transfer (Terms apply)

Platinum 0% for 30 month balance transfer (0.55% fee) + £20 Barclaycard cashback on £2k+ Balance Transfer

This card maybe an option for people seeking a longer 0% balance transfer period (2 and half years) but still want a low fee. Factoring in the £20 Barclaycard cashback you could make a £3,637 balance transfer and not pay a fee.

  • 0% interest for 30 months on balance transfers from the date you open your account. Transfers must be made within 60 days to benefit from the 0% offer
  • 0.55% balance transfer fee (terms apply)
  • £20 cashback on a £2k+ balance transfer (Terms apply)

Platinum 0% for 27 months purchase and 27 month balance transfer - 1.99 % fee + £20 Barclaycard cashback on £2k+ Balance Transfer

This combo card is an option for people looking for 0% on balance transfers and 0% on purchases for a decent period (2 and a quarter years). Based on an example of transferring a balance of £3600 and factoring in cashback, this would work out at a 1.43% fee. Sainsbury's offer a slightly longer duration (29/29) but the balance transfer fee is 3%.

  • 0% interest on purchases for 27 months from the date you open your account
  • 0% interest for 27 months on balance transfers from the date you open your account (1.99% fee applies). Transfers must be made within 60 days to benefit from the 0% offer
  • £20 cashback on a £2k+ balance transfer (Terms apply)

Platinum 0% for 33 month balance transfer - 1.95% fee + £20 Barclaycard cashback on £2k+ Balance Transfer

This card is an option for someone looking for the longest balance transfer. Based on an example of transferring a balance of £3600 and factoring in cashback, this would work out at a 1.39% fee. Tesco has a slightly longer 0% duration of up to 36 months but the balance transfer fee is 2.69%.

  • 0% interest for 33 months on balance transfers from the date you open your account. Your 0% offer will start from the date you make your balance transfer. (1.95% fee applies)
  • A fee of 3.5% will be applied to your account at first, but you'll only pay 1.95% as we'll refund the difference
  • £20 cashback on a £2k+ balance transfer (Terms apply)

A few things to note

  • If any doubt whether you're likely to be accepted for the card, use the eligibility checker tool on the card page. The tool uses a soft search so no impact on credit file.
  • If accepted, setup a fixed monthly direct debit to ensure you make at least the monthly minimum repayments and don't lose any promotional rates.

Hi,

It was good deal that was posted earlier in the year and remember voting hot at the time. From what I remember you changed the post and headline a number of times, and based on the comments possibly alienated members which may have attracted negative comments and voting. Anyway hope this post helps people out.

thanks

Don't think that's fair tbh. I reckon it's also how many people actually see your deal. You have 0 followers where compared to chanchi he has over 1000 followers. Not everyone sees every deal on this site as there's so many posted.
I never saw yours but I've seen chanchi's and tbh his deal has come at the right time for me.

Anyways nice deal OP, hopefully it'll help other people out like it will for me.

Cashback is fulfilled by Barclaycard as a credit to your account

"You will only receive the cashback once and the credit will be applied to your account within 28 working days from the point your balance transfer is processed. It will show on your account shortly after it is applied, and will be visible on the next statement you receive after that"

thanks
does this card also included free travel non fee, excellent card
Be careful, they may not offer you this deal and you may get credit checked . I had problems in the past where they wont protect me from online fraud while every letter ftom them said they do otherwise.

On the eligibility checker states

" If you already have another credit card provided by us (which may be one of our partner cards), we’re unable to accept applications for a further card. In the meantime you can view any existing offers on your account, including things like transferring a balance from another card by logging in or registering for Barclaycard online servicing."

I think they meant if you already have a Barclaycard with them. Is this a new customer offer or for existing as well?

The comment you're replying to answers that. No it's for existing customers.

Really annoying because Barclaycard don't let you upgrade your account either. I have a Barclaycard from years ago, and they won't let me upgrade the card to a better one. I'd have to cancel the card, wait for it to disappear from my credit report, and then apply for a new one.

You're better off applying elsewhere. MBNA gave me 3x the limit of my Barclaycard, a much better standard rate and 30 month promotional period. Even though I've had my Barclaycard for 8 years.

I gave up after Flamedeer 2013!!
Just my personal experience but i switch cards quite often and usually have no problem getting new ones with at least £5000 as an initial limit - Barclaycard gave me £250

Wait a minute, I was the 1st one on here to reply it was a good deal. It had nothing to do with emotion, so get your facts right before you accuse people for posting

I am going to take advantage of this deal, whether people know chanchi or not, it's completely irrelevant, trust me people have their own minds and this is a great deal, there's enough deals to go around and no need to be bitter.
I got this offer through on a mailshot. Having a poor credit history and a credit card of £1500 sitting, I figured I would apply and see what happens. Just applied for £1200 balance transfer and got accepted... with a £5000 credit limit!! So surprised but delighted, now I have a bit of a bumper for a rainy day, or a two-for-tuesday...

Santander only gave me just over 3500. Bit concerned about my ability to 0% BT when the time comes, although another provider keeps upping my limit without me asking

Relax, why do you need validation through how much heat your deal got.. you personally helped me out a lot by posting the deal originally, as I'm sure you did many others so I'm showing you gratitude now for that

Anyway its a hot deal nevertheless, has saved me a fortune in interest

I was able to change my Barclaycard. It was a few years ago though. I went from an initial card to a rewards card then to a platinum.

Maybe things have changed since then though.
Do you only get the £20 if you balance transfer?

And if so, if I put £1 on to a credit card I dont use then do the transfer would I get the £20.

Barclays are always writing to me as Im a current account customer, to get me to sign up for a barclaycard so I imagine they'll accept me.
What reward credit card would you guys recommend?

Thannd

Yep, noticed it a long time ago. Don't know why. I've commented on this in the past too.

You'll also have noticed the same style comments too like the cringe GIFs.

Think Chanchi posts great deals but things like an average product by chanci will be a hotter deal than a good product by someone else.

Absolute rubbish.

I took out a previous credit card 0% deal posted by chanchi and I have taken many of his postings. How ? Because I am following him so it tells me when he posts.

Thank god for chanchi - he personally has saved me and my family in excess of £1000 just through his deals alone.

Your post is a bit too wordy! The description doesn’t fully cover what the deal is. Just basically says £20 cashback for transfer deal?
Thanks for this. My virgin one was due to run out soonish and with a couple of events I've got happening in the next couple of weeks this is hopefully going to help. Surprised to be given £6K limit though! Thanks
What sort of credit limits are people getting compared to their other credit cards? Got a kitchen to refurbish, so would need a fairly large limit, but don’t want to apply, get a tiny credit limit, and thrash my credit rating

Yeah I often vote hot and buy things based on the person who posts a deal. I am unable to make my own decisions. This is conclusive evidence.
