Just went into the local 99p store and seen this hanging behind the counter. At first it just looks like an Energizer mobile phone charger but on closer inspection you get 2 Energizer Lithium batteries with it as well.
At best these batteries cost about £2 for 2 AA or AAA so this I thought was a wonderful deal. I have used these before in my digital camera and they last ages. I know you can get 10 cheaper batteries from the same shop but this will outlast all of those.
Oh yeah and you get the mobile phone charger as well. The ones they had were for motorola models but a quick tip for you is that the motorola chargers work on some Tom Tom's like my Go 720.

Nice find, HOT!

Lithium-ion chemistry degrades rapidly after manufacture irrespective of use - so try and look for a manufacture date if you're thinking of getting a couple!

Nice find.

These batteries are Lithium Iron (not Lithium Ion). The shelf life of these primary batteries is 10+ years.

I stand corrected! Nice to learn something new

This is an excellent little charger, took it to several festivals last year and it never once failed me. I paid £1.49 for mine last year at Home Bargains and I think they still have some, obviously if you don't live near a 99p shop!

I'd pay 99p just for the charger, without the batteries!

Great Deal Thanxs!!

Bargain - I paid £6.95 for one of these at Glasgow Airport in the summer (forgot to pack my charger and needed one in a hurry - more fool me!). Hot deal!

I bought one of these last time this offer was on, and I'm not as happy with it as some people on here are, I may be using cheap batteries, But I think 2 AA batteries last ONE charge. I bought the Energizer batteries and tried them, still one charge, same with Duracell.

Average AA battery = 1.5V & 1200mAh

Average Phone battery = 3.7V & 1000mAh

There's just enough in a couple of regular AA batteries to get a single charge out, leaving out the efficiency loss in the regulation and charging electronics. Might seem weird but most phones use Li-ion or Li-poly which have a much higher energy density that your AAs which tend to be lead-acid, alkaline, ni-cad or ni-mh.
2 AA's can deliver 2 x 1.5 x 1200 = 3600 mWhr
average phone batt can delivery 3.7 x 1000 = 3700mWhr

So you're right. I guess if you used higher capacity battery, you'd probably get more than 1 charge.

The idea is you use this in an EMERGENCY you do NOT use it for day to day charging !!
