These light bulbs are just brilliant! Even 49p, for a light bulb which lasts for 10 years and uses about 6 times less energy than a normal bulb is a bargain. 20p is just an absolute steal!

Absolutly freezing.

5 for 39p in both ]Sainsburys and ]B&Q

Lots of people will live closer to a Homebase. My nearest B&Q and Sainsburys are both 20 miles round trips. My nearest Homebase is a 3 mile round trip.

61p doesn't get you 17 miles in my car - I'm not sure about yours. Also, can anybody be really arsed going to a supermarket or B&Q just for some lightbulbs???

What a stupid argument...

Surely, you could similarly argue "Can anybody really be arsed going to a homebase?"

These are more than twice the price.

If somebody posted a deal for 120p for a litre of petrol, then compounded the argumentby saying it's the closest petrol station for 50 miles, would that be hot?

Me thinks not.

My point was that Sainsburys and B&Q are always really busy. I would rather spend less on petrol and pay more for the bulbs than more for the petrol and less for the bulbs. A pound for 5 bulbs, forget other deals is very very very cheap - no doubt.

sainsburys are doing the same bulbs 5 for 50P

council office

Of course. Council office - why didn't we think of that. Perhaps because it's another moronic comment you've thought out loud.

You pull other threads apart for being 'not inclusive enough' (remember the free Sub in the Daily Record - 'Scotland only' shouldn't be posted here according to you) - and yet you think 'council office' is an appropriate response. I work for a council, and can state with absolute assurance that there are NO council offices in my local authority giving away free lightbulbs. By your own thinking, if your council is doing so, then hukd isn't the place to post it, since it's just not inclusive enough!
