Hmmmm, English Newcy Brown? I think not, Scottish and Newcastle breweries are owned by Carlsberg who are Danish if I'm not mistaken.

piccy, piccy!

According to en.wikipedia.org/wik…own the brand is owned by Heineken. It is still brewed in England, although not Newcastle.

It's far too sweet for my taste, anyway. I stocked up on the Spitfire & St Peter's ale.

Newky brown @ £1 a bottle is a great deal, will stock up on some tomorrow.

I always complain on here that there are only ever offers for lager and we never get any offers for beer.

Finally here is a decent offer for beer, still much more expensive than lager but for me a much better bargain.

I especially like the Shepherd Neame, I won't be bothering with the Newky bron but I'll be getting in a few of the others.

Heat and rep for you.

Any idea of when this offer expires?

Great deal - usually around £1.60 a bottle, and for great beer!

Hobgoblin.....oooooh!

Might pop to Asda later for a new shirt/tie, might check out the ales aisle before I leave.

I saw these in my local Asda last week and tried the St Peters, very nice it was, so had planned on getting a few more at the weekend. St Peters do some really nice beers, their old style porter is lovely.

If you like London style porter then try Asda's own brand. It's made by Sheherd Neame and is quite moreish.

St Peters Organic Ale is a superb beer. Much better than the chemical slop it has to sit next to on the shelves. Coolest bottle of any beer too. St Peters do a lot of of other excellent beers; their website is worth checking out - and ordering from on special ocassions.

Thats possibly my favourite of all the ones they sell. I love stouts and porters and think that is a hugely under-rated beer.

No word of a lie I've just poured myself a bottle about 5 minutes ago before I sat back down at the pc.

Nice to see a post for some quality beer

I love going to Germany and Belgium because they have some cracking beers.

God knows how people can drink the stuff that they mostly pump out in the pubs over here.
