Are these compatible or better than the router that plusnet supply?

why the cold votes? Is there something better out there at this price point?

With respect: I think the point of the cold votes is that you don't know whether this is a good product or not, it was just posted it because looks cheap. If someone had purchased one, taken delivery from the supplier in China, set it up and were enjoying good service before posting it with a recommendation then that would be a very good thing indeed. Subscribers are just seeing something cut and pasted from yet another Chinese retailer's website with no justification whatsoever and are (reasonably) voting cold (as I have - for that reason).

I do wonder (on the basis of mobilescout.com/tec…tml whether that's the standard price. The review is luke warm about this router.

Maybe, maybe not. The one supplied by Plusnet will not be particularly good, but until someone buys and installs one of these, and shares his/her recommendation it is hard to say.

I changed the router that Plusnet supplied (mainly because it would not allow me to allocate static IP addresses to devices) for a Netgear N300, which I have found to be a great improvement (in range, performance and reliability) over the supplied item. From memory I think the Netgear item cost about £30 in some UK supplier's sale, so the difference is quite small (compared to the posted item). I think the N300 has been superseded by the DGN2200 model, but that seems to cost under £40.

Don't think this has a DSL modem.

If you have the Plusnet Hub One, it has 4 gigabit ports and is supposed to have very good wifi. You can even put Lede Openwrt firmware on it if you need more advanced configuration options :- openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/vie…b64
