Don't know if this will work for everyone and is not exactly a deal in the common use of the phrase but anyway i'll start from the beginning. I first ordered talk talk about a month ago and got the standard deal at the time...that is 16.99 a month for line rental and standard phone package with wireless broadband.
Then i heard about the carphone warehouse offer of 10.50 for the first 12 months then it rises to 16.99 (for the remainder of the 18 month contract). As i had only ordered a week before that i phoned up and threatened to cancel if i didn't get the same offer which they kindly said i could. Yesterday i got my first bill which tried to charge me for the original 16.99 offer. So, i phoned up to complain and again threatened to leave arguing that i didn't get the deal that i had signed up to...here is the important part because i didn't actually mention which deal.
The girl i was talking to said to hold on untill she talks to her manager. I patiently waited and on her return she said that i will be refunded the difference and that i will only have to pay 10.50 for the rest of my contract!!! At that point i asked to clarify if that included line rental and billing charges and she said yes, and again as i couldn;t actually believe my ears asked her if all i will be charged for the entire 18 month contract is 10.50 (including a wireless router) and again she said yes at which point i took her name and asked to have that in writting on my account incase there are any future problems and quickly got off the phone...incase she changed her mind ...lol.
I'm assuming there was a special special deal being done around the time that they mistakingly thought i had signed up to and gave it to me now.
Hopefully some of you guys out there may be able to wiggle a way of arguing a similar case and getting the same deal.
GOOD LUCK

Not exactly a deal but the info may well be useful for me, thanks.

I suspect you will be paying £10.50 a month line rental and they have just extended the free broadband and calls for the duration of your contract. I am not doubting what you say was agreed on the phone but suspect the operator misled you. I would wait until you get confirmation in writing and then maybe post again. Neutral for me until confirmed although the talk talk deal in general is hot. Good luck with the deal, i hope you get it.

Can someone please explain why this would be voted cold??

Dont worry about the cold votes dude, youll get used to it lol.

This is not a deal but an agreement with you as they made an error. I also think that when they said £10.50 for the rest of the contract they meant £10.50 per month for the rest of the contract. As in you discussion you had mentioned the £10.50 per month deal that was available.

Seems like a lot of bother to me.

Your title is misleading it should state - 10.50 per month

Hahahahaha.

Yeah, if you get this then I will eat my hat.

Fool.

I know it seems a little like it's 10.50 a month for the rest of my contract but i did stress to ask her several times about how much i will pay for the entire contract in several different ways.
Question 1 All i pay is 10.50 for the whole of my contract?. answer-YES
Question 2. So, all that will be leaving my account for the next/complete 18 months will be 10.50. answer-YES
Question 3. Let me get this straight. i don't pay for billing chargers or line rental for the next 18 months as all i'll be paying is 10.50 for the entirety of my contract? answer-YES

Although, i do give the possiblity of maybe not the brightest of call centre staff or they got confussed but it did seem to be accepted by her system to give me the amended deal. But i'll see with my next bill. Fingers crossed. At least now i'm only neutral ....getting better lol thanks.

He thinks hes getting 18 months service for £10.50. Not per month.

Did you actually read my complete post?
As i said i reiterated in as many ways as i could have possible the offer which she gave me to hopefully prevent any confussion in what she had said and as i said each time she said YES!! and from what i know of she couldn't say yes if it was not allowed by her computer system.

Ok now cold again lol, it's a yo yo post lol.
Lovin the love :-)

voted hot. would like to hear about your next bill!
No matter how it was agreed to YOUR clarification, and no matter how much 'in-writing' it is, I'll lay money you'll get bumped for £10.50 per month, and although you'll complain about having it in writing etc etc, there'll be a clause somewhere in the small print!
No way they could afford a whole rake of HUKD'rs phoning up asking for this deal!
How could they possibly make any money!
But, as mentioned, voted hot - and good luck!

I like you. Your funny.

There is no way they would give you all that service for £10.50.

Wake up.

I think you will end up being a little disappointed - I cant see them only charging you 59p a month

I'm guessing that it could be one of these:
1. Because this is not a deal - it is an exclusive compensation deal for you
2. You or the TT operator have misunderstood each other. This will be a monthly charge
3. Some people vote cold whatever - it is a shame there aren't rules that oblige at least a one line response but there you go - you are not alone ;-)

Ok, i'll make sure to give a copy of my next bill, but come on people can you blame me for posting this, after all if it does work it's worth a try. Like many other mis prices that people post and sometimes they DO ACTUALLY WORK, but some people say nay before they give it a chance.

Why dont you ring them up again, and say

"I want to know whether you will be charging me monthly, or will there be a one off fee of £10.50 be charged for the full 18 months?"

Then you will get your answer.

Seriously, read your questions. Each one of them can easily be answered as £10.50/month as that is how they relates to charges - monthly - not full term.
Contrary to your belief, you have not asked specific questions at all.
Did you not think to ask, "Please confirm that this equates to 58p per month averaged out". An easy one really and I think you are being naive if you think any loss leader could go to these lengths (bear in mind they need to rent your line from BT and then pay BT to set up their ADSL - yes, they do invariably sub-contract BT to do it as it is operated via BT's exchanges!!).

OK, i know it seems very unlikely but that is what i was offered. I will take your advice and phone up later to clarify.
God you people are hard to bloody please...(kidding).LOL

Original Poster

That is what i asked.

For the record I haven't voted hot or cold. But you are not getting that for £10.50 per 18 months, that's £10.50 per month! That's how I read it, it's pretty obvious that when they tell you how much they'll charge that it's per month, that's how often they charge you!

I was offered free connection (£30) a free wireless router (30) and a half price package by a man from their call center if I signed up to an eighteen month contract.
I made him repeat what I would be getting three times before I agreed to sign up, he assured me that's what I would get. When my first bill came I had been charged for the connection and the router and the package was only half price for the first three months.
When I phoned to complain Talk talk didn't want to know they said I would not have been offered all that as they don't do that. I asked them to check again as I had taken the name of the person I had spoken to but they said there was nothing they could do. They waived the connection fee as a 'goodwill gesture'.
Do not trust anything they say over the phone.

lol this thread has just made my friday morning......as if it would ever be 59p per month! hilarious! hahaha.....
