See the details. It says the CPU is 1.1 GHz but Burst Frequency is actually 2.40 GHz. Not many left. I bought one elsewhere for £40 more, and I thought that was a bargain.

Note - Grade A refurb. There's no mention of DVD writer, worth checking it has it if you need it. Wifi was ac on my model. Mine was as new, in original packaging.

and up to 6.5 hours battery life (I remember when 2 hours was the best you could expect on entry level).

Intel Celeron n3350 - cpu benchmark 1119

that's pretty basic (slow) but will be ok for browsing

I remember when all this was fields

We're looking for hotukdeals people, this is one. Can u beat it for the spec? xx

actually there's a £10 discount promo at the moment so make that only £50 more

AN ENTRY LEVEL ACER - That isn't going to be a pretty sight at any price.

Unfortunately Acer have poor build quality. Regardless of spec, I wouldn’t go near one. Look at Grade A Lenovo T430 or X240.

Good find. Shame about the screen though but will suffice for many.
It can't cost that much more to mass produce these with an IPS FHD screen. I will waiting for that deal when it comes up.
Heated added for this.

not really - because you're comparing something buyable & usable (my laptop suggestion) with a pile of ploop (because of the OP's poor processor) that you shouldn't touch with a bargepole

unless you just want to browse

Jumper EzBook 3 Pro, or Yepo 737A to name just two.

I'm going to have to issue a "Slow Computer Ahead !" warning for this one ...

Good of you to debunk your own argument for me lol

Maybe you could come up with a list of other things that are better when you pay a quarter more. I'll start, did you know that if you buy a TV, you could have simply got a better one by spending 26% more?

I've got another one!! If you buy a house, for 26% more you could have got a better one in the same area!! I mean, what sort of idiot buys the lesser priced one!! Lol!

How about, carpet!!! Well known fact, spend more per sq m. and you will get better carpet!!! I mean, come on!!! In fact, with carpet you could go the other way and stick to your budget but just cover 3/4s of your lounge floor. Win Win!

Celeron, garbage, cold. They shouldn't even sell this crap.

Well that's got the computer snobs rolling. The question was, can you get a better spec for the price? And the answer was........... no. Any road, no matter - 224 happy customers have bought it and it's sold out! Think about it, hotukdeals. It was, although you might not have wanted to buy it (am I allowed to say "you to**ers").

Not really a question of computer snobs, perhaps you should consider that some have better knowledge/experience than you. The performance of the CPU in this laptop is extremely slow. As for 224 happy customers, I suspect that many will be extremely disappointed, with the poor performance and poor screen. As far as the question of 'better spec for the price' several better value alternatives were posted.

The EZBook 3 Pro, Lapbook etc, blow this out of the water. Do you even realise that the N3350 on this maxes out at 100% even loading basic pages? The 1366x768 TN panel screen on this is also a bad joke for a laptop in 2017.

As for "224 happy customers", they're not happy, they just don't know any better and made the mistake of buying one of these.
