E.ON Customers Switch & Save 4.9% Extra for Free (no tie-ins)

E.ON Energy have done it again! They have increased prices for existing customers but released a new lower tariff, so if you're an E.ON customer you need to call them on 0800 183 1377 and ask them to put you on the new cheaper tariff called "EnergyOnline Extra Saver 14" which is very slightly different than the old v12 (some slightly higher and some slightly lower) but has a 6.9% Online Discount compared to the old 2% discount. Based on my usage, that's a £70 annual saving with no cost and no tie-in.

You can also switch online if you follow the link.

Yep, got the free energy watch meter thingy too, flogged that on Ebay :giggle:

Yep, I too was taken in by the media hype of rising costs, bad move really.

I'm on v14, just done a search on uswitch and I would be £110 better off a year on v12. I only joined a few weeks ago so I guess 12 wasn't available then.

EDIT - OOPs! I put V2 , not V12. It's actually a saving of £22 so probably worth doing for most people. I am already on it tho.

..........plus if you're joining as a new customer you can get £70 through Quidco for Dual Fuel switch

Thanks for the post:thumbsup:

im on v12 too, so is it right that v12 is better than v14?

Odd. I don't seem to have "EnergyOnline Extra Saver 14" as an option. When I log in I see that I am currently on the "E.ON Energy Plan" and I can move to either "Track and Save v2" or "Energy Discount v4". What am I missing?

E.On are the devil. Personal opinion that has no direct bearing on the deal.

I just like to share.

i have swapped over ,thanks for the tip

I'm currently on Price Protection 2010:

I'm on a dual fule deal with E.ON. I was on EnergyOnline Extra Saver 12 and I've switched to EnergyOnline Extra Saver 14. I gave them a call and, as I'm already a customer they have my usage stats. Based on that they said that I'll save about £70 by switching, but I can switch back if I'm not happy.

Electricity is going to be 0.04% more expensive and gas will be 2.5% more expensive for the first 2680 kWh per year and 2.9% cheaper afterwards.

ON TOP OF THAT I get an EXTRA 4.9% online discount - 6.9% now, up from 2% before which means overall I'm better off on all my energy costs which is how they estimate I'll save £70 per year.

Thanks for the heat and rep

Yup, don't forget for new customers coming to EON there's a £70 quidco incentive.

Energy Online 14 is a very good tarriff also. For us, it's the cheapest based on our area and useage.

See how it works out for u, use this website to compare: www.energyhelpline.com

Are you on monthly Direct Debit, I think that's a requirement as well as completing their online registration process

We're on the Age Concern tariff, seems the cheapest of all to me and no age restrictions oddly.

not sure how much i'll save can't be bothered to work it out, but cheaper prices and bigger discount so got to be worth a go, thanks op

Thanks for the information, just switched online but it was only showing a 4.7% online discount for me, but still an increase of 2.7% which is better in my pocket.

Heat and rep

If you are on a fixed tariff, stay on it, its still much cheaper than this new tariff (at least until your cap ends).

Will try it..

Thanks. I'm getting an extra 3.something percent discount.

I'm on a Price Protection 16 Plan, it seems to still be better than the current tariffs. I'm currently comparing the pence prices, I'm not sure how the % discounts are relevant as they are surely priced into the per penny prices?

Personally agree. I consistently receive letters from eOn threatening debt collection agencies unless I settle a bill before a date that's in the past! The letters are always dated about 10 days before I receive them - sometimes I receive the e-bill and the 10 day old threat paper on the same day! and eOn just ignore emails complaining about this.

I hate to think what this does to some old people who get a letter threatening them with repo men and court actions while this company continues to make frankly obscene profits.

Sorry. Rant over. Original post voted hot for the information, thanks.

"The discounts on this product vary by product version and region"

For me, the v12 gives a 6% online discount and the v14 only 5.8%. Electricity prices per unit are the same but gas is slightly different (1 higher 1 lower).

thanks gone for the v14 giving me 7.5% online discount i never had before

Be warned. I have just telephoned E-On and if I moved from my tariff to this new one it would cost me £75 a year. Might be worth checking with them 1st...

Folks - this small print explains the difference people are seeing:

The discounts on this product vary by product version and region

When I logged in v14 was exactly the same as v12 and v13 for discounts and tariff.

Its worth checking, but suggest you dont immediately assume you'll get the better deal that some have.

Just changed over - took 5 minutes - saving over £100 p.a. - Many thanks

Yep I've just saved £90.00p/a according to Eon

Many Thanks
