Good price, but for me, I need double-sided automatic printing.

This does double sided as standard but it's slow.....

Bought one of these last week from Amazon. Good printer to replace our WF3620. It's a good network enabled printer. No paper drawer though so it's only rear loading. It's also very slow. However, it's a good price and came with a Full bottle of each ink (rather than just enough to prime it). Overall, a good buy I think.

    You don't sound sure 😁

Don't bother with inkjet, get a laser.
I kept buying inkjet, nozzles kept getting blocked, chucked it out, bought new inkjet, rinse and repeat.
    Not anymore

Always with the blocked nozzles and banding - especially if you use the cheap aftermarket inks from amazon or eBay. Gutted I missed the office World colour laser deal that was on here a few weeks back. Just can't cope with the Mrs/ kids moaning that the printer isn't working any more

Exceptional deal. You'll save so much on ink. Buy it if you can!

Typical comment from someone who has read about them but never actually even used one. They are rubbish.

These are super tacky and the touch screen is miniscule. The print quality is garbage and they are dog slow. Not a world apart from those 90s inkjet that took literally minutes to print a page on maximum quality. Banding and ink blockages also a constant issues unless you print more than every 4-5 days, needing print head deep clean cycles to resolve. You will use more ink cleaning than you ever will from printing. The duplex function is even slower, the scanner is budget grade.

Better off with a cheap laser and just throw the thing away once you've used the ink.

I had a HP massive cube thing buy 1 get 1 free about 10 years ago on here for £100 each after cashback, and upgraded to this.

Might as well have traded in a PS5/Series X for a Game Gear.

I have an older Ecotank in this range and the experience has been broadly positive on the print quality / ink usage side but the sheet feeder is the spawn of the devil's trumpet. Seriously. Try using sheets heavier than 100g and watch it struggle every time, rinse , repeat.

So whilst the idea is good, trusting Epson to do it is another thing entirely

If you don't use the printer in months it block up, Do not purchase don't waste your money just get a laser printer.

Trouble with laser printers is they are massive, and my HP one fades on one side, summat to do with the drum I think. (edited)

We have had 3 of et-47x0 at work. They last for 3 years tops, printing 60 pages per day. Printing with aftermarket ink is dirt cheap indeed. They need to be used regularily and ink levels closely monitored. If not ink gets dry in the pipes and that's the end of story. Also the print head gets misaligned after a few thousands of pages and it can't be fixed with any calibration (physically worn out). To sum up, they are great whilst they work.

My one was good whilst it lasted. Literally just outside of warranty and the paper loader isn't working any longer.
I contacted Epson and they quoted £127 plus vat to repair it.
So I bought the cheap hp one off of here and it works just as well if not smoother.

If you use decent paper and don't leave it sitting for long periods, these printers are great, especially for making greetings cards.

I'm guessing about 7 lines of Powershell and a Scheduled Task could sort out the blocked jets thing.

    Should've thought of that sooner.

Anyone know if this is a good printer to use with a cricut maker
  13. horizon-in's avatar
Laser printers are far more superior than inkjet. HP are great, just bit expansive to run as compatible toners are not often great. I heard brother laser printers are better in terms of cheaper compatible toners

Well it's good to see some comments from people who have bad it up to hear with the guff on how these are the second coming of god.

Having said that a scheduled print task to stop the clogging and banding sounds like a good idea until a deal for a laser turns up and I can go back to printing bliss.

3 yrs ink included how is it? Extra ink supplied?
    Dave_Eddie's avatar
They use ink tanks, rather than cartridges so there's enough ink supplied to print x amount of pages per day for 3 years.
