Looks like a good deal for a full HD 3D projector

This 3D-capable 3LCD projector from Epson is all about affordable home cinema around the house, offering bright, colourful and high contrast Full HD images and smart controls. A built-in 5 W speaker and vertical/horizontal keystone correction make it easy to set-up and position.

I do not know if this is any good but I am voting hot and cannot wait to hear others opinions on this as I want one.
Epson make good projectors got one last year, picture is fantastic! the only draw back is the sound output is only 15watts and poor quality, distortion very bad. Use mine with a Pioneer x58 surround sound system and its the best thing I've ever bought :-)
Decent projector, I have a dlp one and I think it's awesome and has no rainbow effect issues.
I think this is also known as the '2040' model in non UK countries. Gets some fairly decent reviews.

Completely different product, but does anyone have any recommendations for (cheap) pico projectors? ideally ones that recharge/power via USB.
Great price for epson, HOT!
Cheers OP, been considering a projector for ages, gonna give this a go.
Hmm I have just bought a 5100 a few weeks back for £430, this appears to be better at a much better price :((
Been on the eye out for a projector for a while now and this could be the one.. shall I.. shalllll?! Ahhh!
Bought the TW5100 last year and thoroughly impressed with it. It's positioned off centre and manages to adjust the screen accordingly. It's noisy compared to others but with a decent sound system or headphones it's a non-issue. Picture quality is excellent and would recommend over a large screen TV
Good price especially if you prefer LCD to DLP projectors.
I suffer bad with the rainbow effect on all DLP projectors. This is a really good price have some heat !
what is the throw distance to screen size on this? thanks.
How much for replacement bulbs?
How good is the performance under light?

That's a different model, even though a lot of it is probably the same.
I have a wireless model from Epson, saves v long HDMI cables. works brilliantly. I wristwatch films on Tele any more. display on a 120" motorised screen which hides behind a helmet.

Around £100.

Lamp should last around 4000/5000 hours. I doubt you would need to buy one unless you intend to run the thing for more than 5+ hours every day. Even at 5 hours a day, that's around 1000 days or almost 3 years. Best looking at these things as consumables. Use it for a couple of years and then buy a new better projector.
Very good price for a 1080p projector without any rainbow issues, too weary of bulbs though to purchase.

My cheap chinese projector seems to have perfectly adequate brightness from LED bulbs, surely companies like Epson could do something similar or at least give people an option if they're happy with a possible slightly darker image to not have to fork out for costly bulbs.

well my 2000-3000 hour bulb lasted 400 hours, luckily first ones are usually under warranty but they can go anytime.

Exactly. It's in the same series of projectors. It's not going to be massive fundamental changes.
Could someone buy me this for Christmas please. I wouldn't normally ask but I'm strapped for cash.
Personally, I am looking for a deal to buy BenQ W1070 as it is rated better, feel free to post a deal for it on hotukdeals if you find a good price

If you have a Samsung 3D TV I believe the 3D glasses will work with this projector. Would buy one myself but the current projector won't die.

what have you got I'm sure we'd welcome any cheap Chinese imports!
Ha, I've been waiting for mine to die but it just won't!

I have the Epson tw680 & it's pictures quality is still fantastic, can view in daytime (although on dynamic setting with blinds closed!) very well, bit at night it's exceptional.

I'd love a full HD & 3d projector, but I can't justify it whilst this one is still going strong.

Incidentally, my first bulb lasted 2500+ hours (last time I checked before it went was 2492) & this one is on 450+ now.

I have no idea why so few people own these marvels. A 100" (or bigger) screen to watch the match, boxing, UFC & films on, & that's without thinking about playing the PlayStation or xbox on it (just perfect for just dance or singstar during parties).

Have some heat, great price!

mines set at 2m it can go 5-6m for a 100inch screen. I've a 80inch on economy setting so get longer bulb life

Started a prime trial, arriving Thursday :-)
Bought one last week, my acer hd6510 DLP died on me. A good thing to be honest as I notice the RBE a lot. This PJ looks great but if you have it on dynamic or bright cinema it sounds like a chinook taking off in your living room. I use the regular cinema setting (slightly tweaked) and the fan noise is much more manageable. I have the pj about 4m from the wall and get about 120inch projection.
I got a BENQ 720p last year for £259, not full hd but it's brilliant.

Like most projectors the sound is crap so I set it up with my trusty 30 year old Sony Amp and some 160 watt floor speakers and it's now mint.

Hugo is the best 3D (£5) but San Andreas/Guardians of the Galaxy come across well too.

This one seems good for the money.

Heat.
PS: No need for an expensive screen, I just painted the back wall (off white) and I now get an image about 120 Inches wide by 100 Inches deep. (12 feet away from projector)
For anyone who missed out on this, keep an eye out incase mine drops below £300.

It will be well worth it

Has anyone who bought this projector tried using something like an amazon fire tv stick powered from the USB port?

I've looked online and can't find anything about the power output of the usb, but with two hdmi connections, it would seem like a particualrly good way to use one of them.

The projector is still available at £375, but temporarily out of stock.
