Limited time deal, so be quick...

One of the cheapest prices this has been, and it certainly appears to be the cheapest by some distance right now.

Dont let the mixed amazon review confuse you; the reviews cover more than one projector - the US site reviews make more sense (it’s called the 2150 there).

The huge throw range is probably what makes this projector stand out from others - it’s very versatile and easy(ish) to set up, and is a highly regarded (branded) 1080p projector.

————————-

Whether you're watching movies, playing games or enjoying 3D visuals, immerse yourself in the big-screen home cinema entertainment that only a projector can provide. This 1080p Full HD projector produces a sharp and colour-rich picture up to 300" screen size, thanks to Epson's 3LCD technology, with reliably long-lasting lamps. And with Miracast built-in you can project exactly what's on your compatible Android smart device's screen.

3LCD for richer colour
With a crisp resolution of up to 1080p Full HD, this projector reaches a brightness level of 2500 lumens for viewing in a wide variety of lighting conditions. And thanks to Epson's 3LCD technology, the brightness is across the whole colour range, not just white, for more vivid and true-to-life colour. Keystone correction allows you to project from an angle of up to 30°, while Frame Interpolation and Detail Enhancement tech makes sure the image is crisp, and fast action is always smooth and blur-free. A high contrast range of 60,000 to 1 ensures just as much detail in the darker areas of the image too.

Easy set up
Lens Shift means you can move the projected image without having to physically move the projector, while 1.6x Zoom lets you enlarge the image for greater viewing flexibility.

Smart streaming with Miracast
Using Epson's iProjection app on your smart device (available on iOS and Android), you can control the projector and project directly from your smart phone or tablet. Also, compatible Android devices can send content direct to the projector, to display whatever is on your device's screen. Streamed media, Youtube videos, games or apps; it's simple to wirelessly give them the super-size screen treatment.

Thrilling 3D
Delve deeper into your visuals with 3D. Using active shutter 3D glasses (sold separately) become part of your entertainment like never before.

Please note: 3D viewing requires 3D glasses (sold separately)

Long-life lamps
The lamps inside the projector have a 4500 hour lifespan, or 7500 hours if used in Eco Mode. You could watch a film every day for the next eleven years and not need to replace them.

The big picture
The projector takes your home viewing to the next level, with a screen size up to a massive 300". Enjoy an authentic home cinema experience, give an impressive presentation, or get lost in your gaming. And because the projected image induces less eye strain, you can comfortably keep viewing for longer.

Erm... buy it?

seriously, it’s a good projector; picture quality is great, contrast is great, very few projectors have such a wide throw range (with most projectors you are limited on where it needs to be put in your room), rated lumens is below some others - however unlike cheaper projectors, the specs show the actual brightness that is achieved. There’s loads of reviews on YouTube of the American version, so go take a look...

For balance - it’s over half of a thousand pounds. “Only” 1080p (although I personally don’t get the 4K obsession.) How often are you going to bother to put on your glasses to use the 3D function, assuming the film you want to watch is actually available in 3D? I’ve been looking at projectors lately, and it seems possible to get one from a decent make, that does exactly the same thing as this (probably minus the 3D) for about half the price on eBay/CEX/Cash Converters.

Any examples? To be honest I would prefer a decent brand then something sketchy. Definitely don't care about 3D, but I suspect this is still a decent price if I don't want 3D. I also find it hard to determine the value of 4k. I'm borderline.
Seems good. Might hold out for 3d and 4k combined, not sure if any recommendations.
Great make for home projectors epsons quality and reliability are second to none ,the only draw back with this one appears to be no lens zoom ,you have to fix the projector in the exact place related to the screen size it throws .this is useless if you wish it to be replacing an old projector or in an exact position in the room, other models you can stick right at the back of your room and just zoom or reduce accordingly.celling mount is also apparently noisy but a matching bit of kit with all the above corrected would be £1000 plus so heat added .for the right person its a bargain

This projector has a 1.6x lens zoom; this is coupled with vertical lens shift, making it extremely flexible. I’m guessing that you got your info from the amazon reviews? If so, they have mixed in reviews of different projectors. There are definitely better projectors, but I don’t think there’s anything this good, from a top brand, in this price bracket.
Had a repeated dust issue - green blobs on the screen - owned it for 1.5 years - sent it off once for warranty clean... Same issue occurred. Dust is sucked in through the lens area... Seems like a fail in design - took a long time but eventually managed a refund through the manufacturer as they sent a copy of an internal technical report filled with condesending remarks, obviously in error. Took a long time to fix. Besides this the black levels are approaching unwatchable, in bright scenes it seems great for the money
Sell it to me.
My next project (pun intended) is a projector in the living room. I mainly use a fire stick for all TV viewing so makes sense. Waiting for a deal to pop up that is around the £200 Mark. Any models I should be looking out for? I don't really care about 3D or 4K. As I don't really stream at content much.

On a side note. Is it worth getting a special proctor screen or just painting the wall a special white good enough?
I got the benq 1070, and that's great,I have no idea what to replace it when it goes for the same position

Don't suppose you can let me know any brands and models to keep an eye out for? Cheers
Oh man I have to sell mine, got it open box for £299, didn't realise it was worth this much.

I have an Optima 1080 projector mounted on the ceiling projecting on to a dulux white wall, in conjunction with a 4k fire tv stick not for 4k but because the CPU is better, it's one of the best things I've bought.I still use the TV for day time viewing and for shows which do not warrant a large screen. I've considered projector paint but tbh I'm quite happy with the results. Be warned about cheap projectors theres a reason they are not £200 and the ones which are, often down scale 1080 to 800x600.
It shows as 705£... How does one get it for 549.99£?
Check out wowoto h8. Great small projector

The Benq W1210ST is probably best in class upgrade to your 1070.

I have it, and it's great.

- 1080p
- Short Throw (100 inch screen from 1.5m)
- 2200 Ansi Lumens
- 3D
- incredibly low input lag (approx 16ms) for great gaming

And probably the best feature is the 6-speed colour wheel. This means the contrast of colours is that more accurate and results in a cleaner, punchier picture, compared to many other pj's.

Currently at a great price on amazon:

this chinese native 1080p for 200 hundred will look good in a dark room.

amazon.co.uk/Per…WU=

a white wall works fine.
check out the reviews on amazon and youtube before you make your own mind
imhave a native 720p chinese projector still works fine after three years.

obviously you dont get the contrast you would from a 500 poind dlp projector, but you dont get the rainbow affect either.

expect lots of comments saying how bad chinese projectors are and the lumens are overistameted which they do .

I went for the model below Vankyo 600 and must say I'm delighted with the result too.
Got this very projector. Performs very well except It was sent back for dust particles that resembled stuck pixels after 18 months. Has been OK since the optics were replaced however I wasn't impressed when I spoke to the engineer and he stated they fix projectors all day long with dust issues and not just Epson's.
It was suggest that I take out an extended warranty as the problem could happen again. Not good considering it's ceiling mounted and in a dedicated almost dust free building.

Agreed fine dust seems to get sucked in around the lens area and I'm not certain why this happens. The engineer from the Epson contract repair company told me the optics were in fact not even sealed....Very bad.

These are cheaper than I realised, ok it's not a big brand name but for £200 seems worth a go tbh. Worst case return back to Amazon. Has a 3 year warranty and 50,000 hour lamp so should last a while. I've had mine for 4 or so years and not had to change my lamp yet.

Don't know anything about this other make of projector. They look good value however as expected at this price range the contrast ratio is not great. I personally value contrast ratio with true blacks and whites being fairly critical in my experience..Low light and dark scenes in movies will also falter with low contrast ratio. You pays the money and takes your choice at the end of the day.
