Does anyone actually use 3D?

I personally think it's not a decision maker, but that's on shopping for TVs.

not at all. Its not 3D, but still the best deal for this projector - if you want 3D, this isnt a poor deal, its not a relevant deal.

Main reason I purchased mine. Thy are still releasing the big films in 3D and it’s easy to download them before they are in the shops.

Great price though whether you want 3D or not.

Epson projectors are great at producing bright pictures and with this LCD version you won't get the annoying rainbow effect either so you get a really smooth picture. Recommend getting one if you're on the fence.
I'm glad I didn't go for the optima deal a few weeks back now, as this is significantly cheaper, no chance of the rainbow effect and I don't want or need 3D. Thanks for posting, saved me a lot of cash!
This is an amazing deal. when I first got into projectors this would be the price of a replacement bulb. The bulb replacement thing is over emphasised with these things anyway. The reality is that the bulb will last you many years. Projectors aren't left on in the background the way TV's are. Ordered.
I'm still holding out for a 4k short throw projector. Anybody know if there are any in the pipeline?
Very nice price. Not the 60000 to 1 contrast ratio though, its 15000 but that's reflected in the price. If CR is not an issue then its a no brainer for me
Never used a projector
Is this as clean and clear as normal tv or
I bought this same projector last year and it is great and very clear as it’s full HD, perfect for movies and games
I love my Viewsonic 3D DLP, bought in 2014, still going strong on the same bulb, and i am glad i went with the one that has 3D as the movies are fantastic on it, and i like having the option rather than not having it, and it was only £30 more than this one.

It is better if you close curtains. Better still at night (or rather amazing at night)

Love my projector. The tv now reserved to background stuff when eating. Projector is awesome for getting immersed into netflix series like Narcos.

It has a totally different set of gotchas so read up before buying, but in short a projector won't go as bright and 4K projectors aren't as cheap as 4K TVs right now. On the other hand they are perfectly clear (assuming you set the focus) and can produce images upwards of 100" across. I have mine set up for 130" and now it's the only way I'd have the room set up. Previously I was watching a 50" TV from ~4.5 metres away so it looked tiny, like a 15" TV does.
How good would this projector be for watching football? Would it be able too deal with the fast moving picture, I still get motion blur on my old Sony LCD TV.

Also, does this need complete darkness? I can close the blinds, but cannot get total darkness.
Ordered then cancelled. Realised this is pretty short throw my stand is about 1m further back
Hot, cheap as chips and ordered. I have an optoma gt with 3d that's now going on ebay. Never use the 3d so it's not an issue. Get a projector, you can't have a screen too big!!
Curry's price matching this also.

I got optoma hd142x, witch is 3d dlp. Got 3d active glasses but the only way I know how to watch movies on my PC in 3d is through projector menu with split screen movies that's works out 720p in the end. What do I do to get 1080 3d. Did try Google it but couldn't find anything. Many thanks for answer up front...
PS: had the Epson, great projector except it's much louder than my optoma. Massive image, around 130inch compare to 100" optoma from around 3.5 distance.
now increased in price!
Awesome deal I paid 5x this for my Epson 8 years ago, but mine does 300" and still going strong and still very pleased with mine. I haven't checked specs but only thing I would suggest is make sure what buying a PJ ensure it has vertical and horizontal adjustment and u need a darker room than a TV would need

What content do you use for 3D?

No streaming service has 3D does it?
Is 1080p good for a projector? Sounds very 2009.

DLP projectors don't have motion blur (since there's no LCD panel in there to take time to react) but have other problems like the rainbow effect. Generally complete darkness not required but there are calculators for this. You've got a 300W light bulb in a box here, the bigger the projected image the dimmer it is overall. 3100 lumens should be enough to produce a good 100" image with the blinds up. To push up to 130" you'd apparently need 5000 lumens in the same conditions.

You aren't getting a 4k projection for £300

Keep trying I think they are slowly releasing stock.
I went for the Epson EH-TW5650 on a past amazon lightning deal when Epson were also doing £100 cash back.It worked out ridiculously cheap compared to the current price. I'm very impressed with the Epson family of projectors. Great picture and as others have stated no rainbows. The icing on the cake was the replacement bulb price at only £39 as well as a bulb warranty.

You wont beat that on any other make..

Thanks, but how exactly do I check? When I click the deal link there's stock but cost £420.

3d movies, i have a a good amount, i had a 3d tv before i bought the projector, but once i saw 3d via the projector i never went back to watching them on a tv, the projector is the only way to really enjoy 3d, on a big screen.
I do also occasionally use the projector for the odd game, Forza motorsport and Gears is phenomenal on a 110in screen, bit it's mostly for movies, be it standard or 3d, your in for a treat in home cinema with a project. :-)
Do you all have a permanent projection screen set up?
