Same price at Comet if you use collect at store.

Is this printer any good?

MIL as got one of these, it's ok but it eats ink, it's even expensive to run on compatibles.

I thought epsons were the cheapest to run, or is it that the cartridges are the cheapest?

this is cold, i bought one of these about 2months ago from asda, queensferry for £24.99

It has been cheaper, but doesnt mean it has to be cold. If you cant get hold of the £25 one then it is a good deal - I have this printer and it works fairly well, though it can be slow.
Dave.

Actually bought this exact printer for the oh in tesco (Ceske Budejovice) on Tuesday (around £30). It came with two cd-roms with drivers, both of which had the English version on. Bought it simply because of the cheap carts (choice stationery do them at £1.99 inc vat and del), and after being very satisfied with my Epson CX3200 over the last 4 years (carts 99p!). Have to say compared with my older Epson, this one is slow, noisy and ugly. And the scanner resolution is very poor compared to others. That said its very cheap to buy, run and if its as reliable as my old CX3200 i`ll still be very very pleased.

Just a note if you want to use this for photo printing, it might be worth buying the DX8400 from Amazon. Its only £10 more expensive, but includes card reader, LCD display etc and i believe is Pictbridge compatible.

Czechoslovakia

I am sure my local Tescos (Lincoln) had teh DX8400 for £29.99 this afternoon

This printer is painfully slow and very noisy. Avoid!

really cr4p...do not buy this printer...

so it seems this printer is not so good, can anyone advise whats the best all-in-one for under £40
I need it mainly for text/image printing (not photos in particular but just various colour images as part of work), and of course a reasonable running cost with inks

I bought one from ASDA for £25. FWIW I think it's well worth the money. OK, it is noisy and the black ink has gone quite quickly but I got a original cart bundle from Amazon for around £15 (for all 4 carts) which I don't think is bad, compats are even cheaper.

I don't intend to use it for photo printing, I don't want hard copies of photos and if I do I leave it to the professionals, so for what I want it's was a bargain.

Anyone know of a deal for just a scanner either a small hand size or flatbed for PC?

Erm I said about 30, as in around 30 or approximately 30 i.e. I took a guess at how many there were. To elaborate for your little tiny brain I didn't actually count them.

As for the shelves not being big enough, what Tescos do you go to? The one in Lilliput?

well around 30 is still a high number and what i was trying to say is no supermarket would put out around 30 of these on a shop floor because they simply take up too much space.
you put 30 of these on the shelves and you've taken up half the aisle! its just too unethical.

So what you are saying is that I'm lying? You do realise that Tescos come in all shapes and sizes and that some of them are probably bigger than the one you go to in Lilliput.

Also how is it unethical of Tescos to have large quantities of stock in store? I am really confused.

i was being sarcastic with you simply because you exaggerated which i cant really stand as it misinforms people.
tescos could have 100 in stock no problem but the question is how many they can stock on the shop floor. so even if the store is huge i really don't see them filling the aisles with all the same item unless of course the managers marketing skills are pretty poor

And you know I exaggerated how exactly?

Actually forget about it, I don't want to know. I have no desire to entertain any more of your inane ramblings.

I thought I would just point out to people that if you didn't want to wait around for delivery you could go to your local tesco and pick one up. Also that stock was plentiful as my local tescos (which happens to be a tescos extra, you know the ones that are like warehouses) had approx 30 on the shelf.

In future I'll just keep info like this to myself, it's not worth the hassle.

now 59.99£

In stock at ]Amazon for the same price
