Was looking for a cheap printer as mine has died - Cheap inks aval ebay etc

The Epson Stylus S22 Colour Inkjet Printer is an A4 printer that has what it takes to produce precise and durable colour prints.

The Stylus S22 has a USB interface and is both PC and Mac compatible. That kind of versatility ensures you can make your computer work with it.

When it comes to refilling the ink, the Stylus S22 uses individual ink cartridges, which is very economical: you only have to replace the colour that has run out.

The included software has quick and easy red-eye removal and contrast adjustment functions that will let you make the most of your snapshots.

Coming from one of the most trusted names in the field and at a fantastic price, the Epson Stylus S22 Colour Inkjet Printer is a safe bet if no-nonsense printing is what you want.

Hot. Epson = Savvy printing.

got one and is good however as i print infrequently i find that the ink can dry up or something between use

Had this for 12 months, only starter cartridges supplied. Bought refillable cartridges for it and never looked back. Works out at 50p a refill and dead easy to do.

Cheap inks is the vital thing here, people have been ripped off in other deals by finding that the ink replacements cost more than the printer.
So a good deal alright, though I won't buy - have a Canon scanner/printer already, and much prefer the combination..

I have this one for almost one year know.

Pro : There are cheap compatible cartridge available on eBay fro less than £10 one set.

Kontra: The problem even you fit a new cartridge sometimes it will not recognize it, wil result asking you to fit a new cartrdige, etc. sometimes quality is not goood.

edit.. just seen they said refillable

£11 for a set of refillables, these are the latest model with reset buttons, the older
ones you had to remove to refill and reset, these you can refill in the printer and
press the button

for inks and syringes to fill them search for ciss ink works out about 20 - 30p for a cartridge worth of ink

£10.99 for 14 compatible inks(3 set of 4 plus 2 additional blacks) from Amazon. Quite a few different ones on there as well, although people have mentioned them not always being recognised.

would this printer be ideal for printing lots of uni work/powerpoints out?

I've taken a chance on one of these, hope it's ok. Cheaper than one ink cartridge for my extortionate Dell printer.

If you want to use compatibles, then I'd recommend JetTec. They are slightly more than other compatibles, but you get what you pay for - I've used generic cheap brands from ebay and amazon and they have clogged up and I've wasted most of the ink on print head cleaning - never had a problem with JetTec and they are still significantly cheaper than originals. Just my 2p worth !

I bought the ones that came with ink, about £30.00 but seem cheaper now. Refilled about 5 times and only used small amount of ink.
