That tells me for trying to watch Sky Sports!
Lots of features for the money, just a caution though, I used "compatible" ink off ebay in this and it only took a week for it to clog up. But they guys at Currys are good eggs and swapped it. Like I say, just a caution.
Both my last epsons have been ruined by compatibles.
My sx515 is just about soldiering on for black only printing but looks like even manually cleaning the head won't free up cyan and magenta. Inbetween going through several sets of compatibles due to the 'not recognised' messages, my dirt cheap compats don't work out quite so cheap.

If you print several times a week you'll probably get away with it as it won't clog up as much.

So the print head is not on the ink cartridge? How much are the original ones?
This is a good price, and like Robin it will try off the shelves!
Believe it is also compatible with AirPrint (iOS) without the need for an additional app like some other printers

I've been buying my HP compatibles from internet-ink for the last few years. I don't print very often, sometimes not for months then a whole load at once, never had a print head blocked.

Not too badly priced cartridges for this (10% discount codes and 10% cashback usually available).

I've always bought the cheap ones on eBay, to be honest I'm not convinced there's much difference between them all, Epson will always claim they use a different type of ink (not sure if true or not).

@Spoonyboy, Epson are renowned for the heads getting clogged.
Been looking at this one for the same price. Slightly lower spec, but has the all important Airprint so can print direct from iPhone/iPad which is really handy.

I've got an sx200 and am looking for something wireless, what's the difference between this and the sx515w I had earmarked?

I've never had a problem with the compatibles even prints decent enough pictures on glossy paper. Just need to change all 4 at once to avoid not compatible message, that's not a big problem because if you buy in bulk they work out less than a quid each...

Nope, not supported by Apple, but Epson have their own very good print app, which works just as well.

Looks pretty poor to me. Have tried a few printing apps and generally they are all a bit rubbish. This looks much the same.
I have DX7450 Epson printer and have being using comapatibles from Asda. Printer for personal use no bother with ink,s good cc.

I'd say make sure you're using it weekly but it'll all depend on what you're printing, probably also ambient temperature and stuff like that?

I swore after cleaning the head out on the sx515 (as per this thread avforums.com/for…tml ) i'd ensure I'd keep using it a couple of times a week, unfortunately a house move got in the way and the ambient temp in this house is far hotter than the flat I used to rent.
Epson need all cartridges full to print black and white!!!!!!!!!! It's a con to make you buy all cartridges rather then allowing you to just use black ink.
I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy about a deal like this!!!

Thanks for that. Never heard about the purge tubes before. Wonder if they affect the internal pressure by blocking up, hence holding back the free flow of the ink out of the reservoir. On another thread somewhere I read the genuine inks also contain fluids that are there to help clean and keep clean the nozzles etc.

Ain't too sure about that. Unless you are printing 'tinted' black and white, only black will be really used for b/w (in fact tinting is a work around for printing b/w on printers with only one grade of 'black' because introducing colours makes for better tonality) and stand alone black can be bought for my basic all in one epson inkjet.
Cheap printer if you use compatible inks
Thank you After checking the price of compatible inks, this is a fantastic deal!! With the cheap inks, I'm confident we will all use it often enough to prevent the clogging that some have reported. I'm picking mine up today

So your saying if my colours ran out and i didn't need em...i could carry on using the printer with only full black cartridge? Im sure the epson will freak and ask to replace all cartridges before it functions again. Maybe the new ones don't do that.

Like I said I ain't too sure but the one I got has black as a separate ink that you can buy on its own.
Purchased. Really pleased as it's actually pretty compact but can confirm no Airprint support. You can download the Epson iPrint app and use this, although you're restricted with what you can print e.g. not emails

woops. sorry about that. I have a SX435W and thought that as it was a higher model number and looked exactly the same (except colour), it would be there. I bet it could be enabled by epson with an update if they wanted to.

using compatible inks WILL clog the heads.there is no way around it,unless you print a page every day.
I bought a sx-130 around 6 months ago, ignoring all epson user warnings, but after I put a compatible ink cart in it took only 3 weeks for the printer to malfunction (white lines on text) I attempted to clean the heads by epson software and the printer immediately recognised the "non epson brand" cartridge and made it unusable.
the printer is now gathering dust and I use it only as a scanner.not to mention very expensive ink cost and mediocre print quality and being so noisy.
I had same issues with previous Canon and HP inkjet printers but Epson was the worst.it is known that epson inkjets heads clog very easily.waste on money.just buy a cheap mono laser.
