Further to the Amazon deal being OOS, I was gutted to have missed out, but I have managed to snap this up at £49.99 + Quidco!

EDIT: The Amazon deal is back in stock but shows dispatch time to be within 1-3 months!

Steps:

** Sign up to comet perks to gain access to £5 voucher -->‌ comet.co.uk/sta…nup

** Reserve item online, 10% discount will be auto applied bringing the price to £53.99

** Collect in store for £48.99 making use of your £5 perks voucher!

Not certain if perks discount works if you have the item delivered... Oh, and don't forget to use your favourite cashback site!

Nice stuff. I just need one like that.

Rubbish printer Don't buy it! My partner had one of these and it broke after about 8 months. Its also extremely noisey and so slow! Takes about 30 seconds per page in colour

i have one of these, and it is very tempermental. but when it works it is great. super quick and easy to setup on the network

Great find, I missed out on the Amazon deal and don't fancy waiting 3 months for a printer!

should it not be even better...£48.99? (53.99 - 5 = 48.99?) very hot.

edit - £5 voucher can't be used online so won't qualify for home delivery option.
'£5 off £50 welcome offer can only be used in-store and cannot be redeemed online' - taken from voucher t&cs

In contrast to the negative comments above, i've had mine three months now, and no problems at all for me !

Isn't it 48.99? (53.99 - 5 )The other thread (amazon/currys) had lots of people who liked the printer - I'm tempted, but the second review says the photo quality isn't great along with another on the comet site... Think I'll do a bit more research than just plumping for the cheapest deal - but still good price for what you get.

Bought one myself 3 weeks ago from Novatech for £59.99 and I thought that was a brill deal so hot from me. Very very good printer for the money, the wireless works perfectly and photos come out looking brilliant.

Only problem I've found is you cannot yet buy compatible inks for them yet. When I bought it Novatech said they should be getting them in after christmas for about £15 for a whole set of compatibles.

Worth of note is these printers never come with a cable, you will need one of these : novatech.co.uk/nov…tml

Not sure how much currys sell them for but anything over £10 is too much for a printer cable

You would still need to connect it to your router, wouldn't you?

got this printer with my imac on the rebate it comes with a usb cable which you need to use for initial wireless setup so you dont need to buy a cable

This is a great printer for the money but I too have been reading the photo side is a little disappointing. But for the price it's an absolute steal.

From what I've been reading the Canon PIXMA MP640 or the stripped down MP560 both give really good photo results if you're willing to pay upto £50/£60 more.

The Comet 'Perks' takes 24 hrs to get through the Comet's system apparently.

Also Cardiff (Newport Road) store manager said that they wouldn't give £5 off online order (Click & Collect) as it was a double discount.

You might get different results in other stores.

You dont need a cable at all. Just connect it to your network and youre good to go.

Had one of these for a year. Cheap inks, good quality prints.

Use it with my mac, pc and ipad.

Try typing "epson sx515w ink" into a well known internet auction site and see how many compatible cartridges there are !

Hey guys!

Sorry, I've been a pillock and had it mispriced at £49.99, I can confirm it is definitely £48.99.

You should also get your perks discount if you are eligible as the 10% is automatically applied online and you didn't technically use any voucher. Personally I had no problems at my store..

How long does it stay reserved for?

Original Poster

It's reserved for 24 hours, I reserved it yesterday evening (around 4) and signed up to perks at the same time.

Went in this morning and picked it up without any issues whatsoever.

EDIT: just to say the saleswoman at comet was trying to flaunt me some cartridges with it as well, buy one get one half price with an additional 10% discount using comet perks! Just in-case anyone else wants to get originals!

I bought one from PC World last week, so far am happy with it. I followed the instructions on the first review on amazon to set it up for connecting it to the wireless network, then ran the CD and connected as an additional computer. Amazon has sellers offering compatible cartridges, I've just ordered a set, I'll see how it goes. (I like the fact that the scanner appears as an extra drive, when viewed from explorer)

here's a link to Amazon, 176 reviews there, giving it 4 out of 5 stars overall.

I've just reserved one at my local (Bolton) after getting 10% discount through Comet perks website. Have been sent an email almost immediately stating that it will be reserved for me until close of business tomorrow, so store closing time the day after you reserved I think. Many thanks OP.

I've set up three of these for family and friends, and own one myself. I'm very pleased with mine, especially for the money.

All of them came with a USB cable in the box, (two from Amazon, one from Tesco)

Bought through the Argos deal. Great printer although paper tray is flimsy. Very easy to set up wireless, prob best way as said in other thread to set up at printer end first and then configure driver at Pc for easy wireless setup. £11 cheaper now. Bargain!

Any idea how long the voucher takes to come through? I signed up an hour ago yet no email received as yet

Cheers

Chet

my email was instant. maybe try again or with diff email? don't expect an actual voucher. just an instruction to tell them your registered email address when you purchase it.

If you opt out of their marketing scheme the e-mail might not come through. I had to sign up again accepting the junk, then opt out of it once I'd received the e-mails. Cheers.

i have this printer purchased at 68£ few months back. Worked brill untill I tried compatible inks. Now the printer head is blocked and CS suggested bringing it to their service center 45 miles away

Guys did you noticed some thing about this printer model it says SX515? not SX515w is it the same ?
