I'm in the market for a new multi function printer and was looking at this one yesterday. This is the cheapest I have seen. Next best I've seen is pcworld for £97.86
What I haven't been able to figure out yet is whether this can handle transparancies (A4 size) so if anyone has info on that it would be appreciated

Discussion thread on this model ]HERE from earlier in the week with lots of info. Its was then £82.46 at Amazon but now gone up to £89.99 with 1 to 2 months wait.

bump..

It was £79.98 last week @ Cdiscount

The printer was actually £86.99 when I found it but went up while I was posting the deal, so you could be right about monitoring the price. Mind you, I did that with the 1TB Buffalo drive and they just sold out. I think Cdiscount have limited stocks a bit like Boffer.

I agree. It is an excellent printer. I got one last week print quality and speed is excellent. Also the cartridges are cheap as comapre to other printers. Thanks

Bought this from Comet last month for £88 (it's back up to £149 now). Really pleased with it if anyone's thinking of getting one. Speed and quality is good, easy to set up and apparently the cartridges work out pretty cheap as well.

whats the script with cd discount bought 250gb harddrive for £42 now its been hiked to £50 and same with the printer seems to me as it gets listed here sales go up then the price hike

The 3 credit/debit card payments do you have to pay all three before you get delivery or is it like credit terms and you can get delivery right away? Thanks for you help.

ha ha haha yeah right ! straight away !!

thats a good one

Bought two of these for a client a couple of weeks back. Very good printers indeed

Can you get a CISS for these things? Might upgrade from my R360

Been looking for a wifi printer and this looks like a decent buy. I've had problems with the cheaper Epson printers in the past with ink drying on the heads, ruining the printer so I'm not sure about going for Epson again.

Ordered one earlier today, am very curious as to how they manage their cashflow though? suffice it to say i used the three payment scheme thingy

If what you say here is the truth and the whole truth:

Call your credit card company, get transaction put on hold and all monies creditted/payments stopped while they investigate. Let CDiscount argue with Visa/Mastercard if they wish but if they behave like this they're more likely to get their account withdrawn. Trading standards would probably be interested too.

Happened to notice this printer in Staples today. They had added 3 yr cover plus a couple of cheap accessories (cable, etc) and were charging around £240!

Don't know how good it is but I've had excellent experience with Epson and it's a good spec - looks like a bargain to me.

PS Staples wanted about £38 for a set of cartridges.

I have just been trying that this week to print out my wedding invites The first couple sheets i tried printed out ok but there were smudges on the edges of the paper. However i did notice that my paper was slightly creased/crumpled initially so i went out and bought more sheets to try and made sure i kept them flat in a folder and they printed out fine!

i used Cromatica A4 transparent sheets from Paperchase, around 100gsm

Whats the difference between this model and the epson 9300f? Which is better and do they both use the same ink cartridges?

will this print on CDs/DVDs?

I bought from them when they first offered the 50% credited to your account when buying an item of clothing. It took a month but the money was placed into my account with them, so I am quite pleased with them.

Like all internet shops one must check other websites for their prices before buying. I think Cdiscount like to make up a RRP.

As for the printer: my mother bought one (why can't they search the internet before buying things,?) anyway, she paid a lot more than £90 from a normal retailer and I have to say, I was very impressed.

I bought a tv from these guys a few weeks ago, the one i ordered was out of stock, but within a week of ordering it was at my door :D. Also a nice supprise was i got an upgraded model to the one i ordered. so all in all even though it took about 1 week to come im very pleased.

Also does this print on cd's and dvd's like asked above

Same price to your door from Dixons.

Epson cartridges you can get for £12 a set. I got 6 inks for my RX585 ad they were £12.
Not epson ones but they r just as good if not better.
The ink last for ages

I bought this printer from Comet in January and it is a really good printer. The printer is really really fast and the qualty is great. I used to use my Samsung Laser printer for all my B&W prints but now just use the Epson, the wireless makes it so much easier.

The only thing is that it doesnt print on to CDs or DVDs and its not duplex, but for this price you cant complain as printers with all those features are over £150.

The starter cartridges dont last very long, mines ran out just at the end of last month there. I was going to buy a set of Epson's for £26 but just went for compatibles instead only £1 odd from ebay. Need to put them in and do some test prints to compare the quality, but it dont think there's much difference. Maybe for high quality photo printing the results wont be the same, but for general colour printing its fine.

Forgot to add, yes you can buy a CISS system for it too.

Got 12 carts from ebay £15, delivered.

(Non epson, Of Course!)

Couple of questions -
what is CISS?
and, out of interest

if you have a router, wireless access point and 2 lappys (MSHOME) and you're trying to print a doc from each lappy at the same time, how is the contention handled? Does it wait for EOF from the original ip before starting the next ip job? Or does Windoze handle it?
