Had a look at the ink prices; wouldn't suprise me if they did a credit check beore allowing you to buy.....

Wait, what, they still make inkjets?

I use an Epson WF 3640 and its awesome, runs perfectly on non branded inks too.

i have the wf-3540 and the inks are wildly expensive. I cant use compatibles as i cant find anyway of overriding the block epson have put on them.

Yep, as photo reproduction is usually far superior to lasers.

Warning I've had two Epsons both had numerous faults. Which magazine verified that they are fault prone.

Samsung is the most reliable brand, closely followed by Brother.

Until I read the comments I was going to add heat, I have a 4535 and the genuine carts are relatively cheap, the 3rd party carts really cheap, and the refillable carts and ink from China stupidly cheap.

On top of that, the carts hold so much* ink that I have JUST replaced the "starter" carts my printer came with 2 1/2 years ago.
They would probably have lasted a lot longer, but I recently ran off several thousand colour flyers for the new family shop.

*48ml each cart, or so I have been told.

Be careful of the Epson Workforce printers. They're prone to blocked heads, even when using genuine ink. Even some pretty extensive stripping down and cleaning the head made zero difference to my Workforce.

Wont buy any Epson printer any time soon - absolute nightmare.
Make sure you print something every 2 weeks or you will get print issue dryed ink ect. - i was advised it actually in owners manual.
First cartridges are start ups only - I think I got like 10 pages only and few printhead cleanups. Then its piggybank - bought it because you can change each colour individually so though they would safe my money on colour you dont use but it wont let you print un lease you have ink in all of the colour and they are drying out in very fast.

i have 2 workforce printers and i haven't had any problems at all with them . i use the cheep carts of eBay
got a WF 3010 i make my own cards with this one and photo`s and its made loads the other is a WF 2660. this was ok as well but it diden`t do the thick card so i got the wf 3010 to do them. but no probs with the other stuff i print.

Cashback submitted last night. Confirmed just now and will be paid by bacs within 30 days.

I think the issue with recent Epson WF printers is that Epson have managed to block cloning of the ink-cartridges - ie design/chip - so that instead of pence per cartridge for non-OEM, it's back to ten+ pounds a cartridge! So even if the printer were any good, it'd be a moneypit to feed.

(Hoping my now 8.5 year old Epson Stylus Office BX300F continues to print with its non-OEM cartridges (most recently 20 for £8, ie 40p/cartridge).

Cashback paid today into my account. Make that about 2 weeks from submitting it. Not bad. Havent even opened the printer yet. Move house at weekend.
