Can anyone comment on the quality of photo prints with this printer?

I got one, not really impressed with the quality of the printing. Had it 12 months and alignment doesn't seem to make much difference. Best I've seen for photo is the wax printers but don't know how much they are. Lazor would be better then this though/
please do not bother with these workforce printers as they are a heap of junk as i have one and the print head alignment is way off and when you do print head clean etc does not work properly. when the printing is done there are lines across the print and photos are also off as the colour does not work properly and leaks
I disagree...had this exact model for a couple of years. Super cheap running costs with compatible cartridges. No problems with clogging up. Duplex. It's great!

the thing with these type of printers is that the print head is in the printer itself and not the ink cartridge,so you usually have to print at least once a week to stop print head drying or clogging up,if you dont use it for 2 weeks or more then good chance you are going to get lines across print or worst case certain colours not printing at all, just print a test page at least once a week rather than printing a full page to avoid wasting ink then you are normally ok-,as with using the clean print head software function that comes with these printers normally they do not work and just waste ink,if you can get cheap ink cartridges that work with it they are cheap as chips to use-if you have got one that has lines across print or certain colours are blank when you print test page then just search ebay for print head cleaning fluid

hi thanks for reply epson are aware of this happening as print heads go off alignment and epson repairs in county cavan just swap out the printer.they said they were aware of this and expect the printer to fail just after 15 months.personally i dont care as it is disposable as i got it during the cashback promo last year and it ended up costing me £25. as i do alot of printing each week and i use the cheap cartridges anyway it is win win.also i made my money back with in 2 days of buying the printer.

also forgot to say thank you for pointing me in the direction for the cleaning fluid..

you are welcome ,if you do a lot of printing you might want to look into Ciss - or whats called Continuous Ink Supply System which might be available for your printer, you need to install it yourself, just google and see if its something you can install yourself - here is a youtube link to give you an idea, you should also look to get a chip resetter, cos sometimes when you replace cartridge you might get cannot recoqnize cartridge error which in my experience is always cured by using chip resetter

Absolute garbage. Had one in a small office environment...was fine for a few weeks, then had terrible banding which couldn't be rectified. Threw it in the skip!

you might have been unlucky and got a bad one,if you only had it a few weeks just get your money back, but these are very good machines normally if used correctly, the risk you take is if you then buy non genuine epson ink cartridges to replace the ones that came with machine, you can then get problems you describe but if you can clean the print head nozzles yourself then normally its easy to correct, also never update the firmware that came with the machine if you do then cheap ink cartridges might not work at all

Keep away from Epson, I had Epson 4630DWF and never buy again even if it is free
I’m after a wireless printer / scanner and was looking at this one but it’s not getting a lot of love here, any recommendations under £75?

if you are gonna use it a lot and can clean print nozzles yourself then go for it,if not then buy a printer that uses ink cartridges that have the print head on the cartridge itself at around £20 plus per cartridge, most print errors are then normally caused by the ink cartridge itself, simply replaced at £20 plus per cartridge

whats the odds that you never used it for about 2 weeks then you got the problems -just sounds like another person who miss uses there equipment or just does not read instructions that come with it about usage,if so then just buy a printer that uses ink cartridges at £20 plus per cartridge

Not sure what these Epson say but the Brother printers I have had you leave switched on and they do maintenance cycles if not used for a period.

this seems a decent enough deal, I wanted duplex print, ADF, double sided ADF a nice to have.

I went for the £35 Brother A3 on here happy so far.(no cash back or stock now still good deal if stock appears)

I nearly went for the Canon Maxify from Argos at £72 - £40 cash back
(still very limited stock checknow says 23 have the item in store)

I think the entry level business like this Epson seem to offer more for your money if you can find a decent price with cashback and longer warranty.

if you want photo then they may not fit but for general print scan copy fine, an ADF is worth having even is you hardly ever use it, time saver on multi page scan/copy.

Canon still has 3y warranty and cashback on some Maxify models.

    canon.co.uk/bus…ns/

even from canon the MB2150 is £60 after cashback and 3y warranty.

would be nice if you actually said the problem you had with your printer, rather than just slag it off with no reason
