Average reviews on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Epson-Expression-XP-247-Inkjet-Printer/dp/B01LKQGC6S) and poor on Epson (https://www.epson.co.uk/products/printers/inkjet-printers/consumer/expression-home-xp-247)

If you read the reviews, this printer seems to have problems detecting certain 'compatibles'. The ultra cheapo ones also don't last, get clogged etc

I think this deal is expired, it's showing as £99.99 (incl VAT)

Never had any problems with carts i have the xp 422 takes same carts it detects non Epson puts message up but works ok
Seem to last well , dont think will clog as epson carts are just ink tanks ie no nozzles to clog

You are lucky to not have seen them clogged up.

Every time you switch them on they perform a cleaning cycle and there is only small sponge in the printer to absorb the ink and that is not easy to clean.

The carts are just ink and true they might not get clogged but the printer nozzle is fixed to the printer and that does get clogged up and it's not easy to clean.

I still have my old epson sx610fw and it doesn't print from black cart the printer goes through the motion of printing but clean sheet of paper comes out.

I hope epson have improved new models.

Anyone with knowledge on how to clean the print head nozzles on sx610fw please share.

Have used this ssclg.com/eps…tml utility in past worked well on old Epson printer does heavy clean and can just clean one nozzle
Can also reset ink counter as printer calculates when cleaning sponge full then shuts of printer
Also best way to keep nozzles clean is never leave printer unused for long
Not had problems with XP 422 and its had about 10 cheap carts through it
But it gets used regular if not i just run clean cycle to get ink through head but if you have Epson carts
in you cant afford to do this and waste expensive ink

Thanks oscar222
Hope this works, but you are right I left it unused for months. If it doesn't is there anything else I can do maybe manually clean or replace something.

I like my sx610fw it has the document feeder, wireless printing, fax and built in screen and memory card readers.

I don't want to throw it
