Less than £10 each seems like a good price for a retrofitable TRV head that allows you to programme temperature profiles across 7 days for individual radiators around the house. This comes as a kit of three heads.

Could be used to, say, not heat the lounge in the morning and only heat your bedroom after 10 o'clock at night. Might save on your heating bills a bit?

Looks like it is quite easy to remove your existing (manual) TRV head and replace it with these digital/programmable ones.

You can get more complicated, wirelessly controlled TRV heads, but they cost quite a bit more.

Cheers,

...Nick

UPDATE: Just noticed these have dropped by a pound to £21.95
UPDATE: Gone back up in price to £22.95
UPDATE: Price gone up to £29.99 but delivery is now free (until 6 January 2016)

User manual is available as a PDF download here.

They look a fantastic idea

If these are good then very good price. We have Pegler Terrier i-temp valves. They certainly save us money.

BTW - there's a link on the front page of the site to subscribe to their newsletter and get a £5 voucher. I'm not sure what (if any) the minimum spend is with the voucher.

* Just got my voucher via email... minimum spend is £75.

My units turned-up today (Qty 7). They have a nice, well-built quality to them. User interface seems okay too. Haven't actually tried them out in anger yet.

Are these upside down when fitted ?
Most of these are made for the European market where they fit the radiator feed pipes to the top of the radiator, so the valves hang down instead of pointing up like in the UK.

Not really upside down, just a bit awkward to read the display as it slopes away, the wrong way. Knew this before I bought them. At least the display isn't upside down like the other ones!

Each to their own. Installation is cost neutral for me... the old Myson TRV heads I removed, sell for a tenner each (secondhand) on ebay! Can't comment on reliability, but at this price I'll probably buy a couple of spares anyway. I suspect that only heating four radiators, instead of fifteen is going to save me a mint.

Are they easy to install (I am not a plumber!)?

Thanks

Yes no plumbing required. You remove the existing TRV head and replace it with one of these.

Thank you

Just realised that my TRV's are old and M28's not M30's which is what is required. I found m28 to m30 adaptor but there like £8 each see link , anyone know where I may get them for less as I need to change them all?

Thanks for this OP, can save a bit of moolah with this.

Thinking of getting these. Any comments now you guys have had them a while?

Were a bit pain to initally setup as intruction not great. In end i didnt use any if the auto features setting just set to manual and set all temps i needed in each room and they work great. Can b bit noisey but u get used to it and its only short while. As i have them on manual they do still seems to randomly open and close even when heating is off but if i had time paten ice and instructions were clearer i'd set auto with times/days on/off
