Found 8th Apr 2015
I was looking to get a new baby carrier for our son and finally decided on ERGObaby Performance. They were £129.90 in John Lewis and £139.90 on ERGObaby website but the same bundle is only £76.46 down from £134.90 which gives 43% off, fulfilled by Amazon (authorised retailer). It came today and everything seems fine.

Product Description
For the active parent looking to take their baby along for the fun, the Performance Carrier features moisture-wicking mesh for ultimate breathability so both baby and parent stay cooler. Durable synthetic exterior makes for easy washing and quick drying. Tapered shoulder straps and padded waist strap ensure parents stay comfortable even on longer treks, either on the trail or at the mall. The Bundle of Joy includes the ERGOBABY Infant Insert cushion which works with any ERGOBABY Carrier and is inserted to support growing babies ranging from newborns to 4-5 months. The proprietary design keeps pressure off a baby’s developing sacrum. The Infant Insert also provides the necessary head and neck support for comfortable carrying from day 1. The Infant Insert snaps around the baby, can be adjusted as needed and placed with ease inside any ERGOBABY Carrier. Cozy and protected, your baby will be perfectly cradled and cushioned.

Op do these not give shoulder pains and back pain i bought a chicco carrier and end up returning for this reason

This is the best carrier ever! Tried loads of different ones for our son, but this was so comfy and could carry him about for hours. Used from birth til about 18 months with our daughter too. Amazing product, great price!

Not sure yet tbh. I only unboxed it today. It was comfortable when I tried it on in a store. Originally I got BabyBjorn Synergy with lumbar support and even though a lot of peeps on the Internet say that BabyBjörn carriers give them back ache or are yoo heavy on the shoulders I was very happy with it (when properly put on). We are upgrading as our boy is getting too big and too heavy for it. I was going to get BabyBjörn One but started reading how even this one is not ergonomic in 2 out of 4 carry positions and how people use ERGObaby over BabyBjörn to ensure proper hip support. So I looked at Ergobaby 360 but it was only suitable up to 15kg whereas Performance is up to 20kg. I tried all of the above in John Lewis and they all seem quite similar except BabyBjörn One was really cutting into my chest when back carrying baby. I wasn't bothered about front facing carrying option (aparently again bad for the hips so I am not risking it). I wanted to be able to hip and back carry and this one does it. It was comfortable but a bit fiddly to start with. Now I watched some videos on Ergobaby website I can do it up and take it off comfortably. I think the baby wearing comfort in a particular carrier depends on your build as well. So I'd suggest going somewhere in store with baby and trying a few different ones then finding the best price for one that suits you the most.

Fantastic ergonomic carrier.

The reason why you get pain with a chicco is because it is narrow based. It basically dangles a baby from their crotch. An ergonomic carrier supports the baby's spine and hips in the correct position and is much more comfy for the wearer. However there are lots of carriers and different ones suit different people. You can find your local sling library on this website https://ukslinglibraries.wordpress.com/find-a-sling-library-near-you/
You can try different carriers with expert advice and if you want hire for a small cost before deciding on a particular brand.

Nice price but I'd double check that it's a genuine carrier, unfortunately there's a lot of fakes, some sold on Amazon

I agree, great price but I'd be concerned about its authenticity as it's very rare you see these discounted, especially to that extent.

Sorry, just looked at the link and it's actually sold by Amazon (not just fulfilled by them) so must be genuine. Heat added

I've bought items from Amazon (sold and fulfilled by) which have turned out to be fake as confirmed by manufacturer upon returning for repair. Buying from Amazon does not safe guard against counterfeits.

We bought an ergo baby from JL nearly 2 years ago and it's still going strong. I was reluctant at first due to the cost but it's turned out to be a great investment.

Thanks everyone for the info

I read a few articles about how to recognise fakes and seen this model in store and I'd say that it looks pretty genuine to me. If those would be fake they would have been pretty good ones. The fabric quality, the stitching accuracy, thread colour, logos, buckles they all look as people say they should. I'd be surprised if authorised seller is starting to sell fakes also. (This doesn't of course include other retailers selling through Amazon)

I've read loads about dodgy ergo baby carriers and am confident that any sold BY Amazon themselves rather than marketplace are legit - have read a response from Ergobaby themselves that said as much!
Great price OP have ordered for our summer due baby - was concerned a standard Ergobaby with an insert may be too hot but hopefully this one will be perfect!
