In stores from today. I just bought one. I tested it when I got home and the flame seems pretty decent and is adjustable. Ideal for flambé, sous vide and brûlées etc. Comes with a gas refill!

  • Make the perfect homemade crème brûlée with this smart gadget
  • Can be used for sous vide, caramelising, flambéeing and gratinating
  • The instructions say it can also be used for model making and fine soldering
  • With secured piezo ignition and adjustable flame
  • Includes 100ml gas refill
  • 2 year warranty

Some info on what kind of refill it takes.

Not unless you're decorating a doll's house.
Where do you get the fuel for this?

It comes with a canister by the looks of it. You can usually get refills in most supermarkets and online.

Might get one and "mistakenly" use this instead of my hairdryer when I do the Mother in Law's hair next!

It comes with a small refill bottle. I've taken this pic from the instructions for you. It doesn't state where to get it but it tells you which type. Hope this helps?

I know. Online would be great. My local Lidl opens at 10am on a Sunday. I had a few special buys I wanted to buy so got there at 10:15am. It killed me. I'm usually still kipping that time on a Sunday.
These usually take lighter gas, so pound shops and newsagents usually sell it.

I've added a pic to the description that tells you what kind of gas that can be used.
Tis the season for smokey old fashioneds
I got one as a present without a canister... Not sure of the make but are the gas canister things universal does anyone know? The one I have looks just like this.

Voted hot BTW.

Yes, they are universal. Get a butane lighter gas refill. I've attached a pic to the description that says what type of refills can be used.
Great deal! I picked one of these earlier for my husband. My daughter is beyond excited for some reason .....

It's a good little blowtorch. Your husband will like it
Can you lock the flame or do you have to keep pressing a button

You can lock the flame. It's got a lock switch.
Very handy for starting BBQ.

I got similar one. Works well with soldering pipes.
Just wondering - would this work with joining copper pipes by any chance?

People have commented above that it does. You could try it and return it if it doesn't.

Can't tell if they're being sarcastic or genuine.

Just a mere thought as a MAP Blowtorch is too heavy.

I think they are being genuine. The instructions say they are also good for model making and fine soldering. If that's within your needs then you could give it a shot. It's quite a good flame and the flame is adjustable. You could give it a try.
I got one of these last Sunday. It's got to go back though because when refilling it the gas pours out instead of going into the torch no matter how hard you press the canister into the refill port. Disappointing. I'll get a refund and get one from elsewhere some time.
