A+ energy rated

The Essentials CUC50W18 70/30 Undercounter Fridge Freezer has all the features you need to keep your food fresher for longer, and is great for smaller kitchens and households.

With an A+ energy rating, it uses less energy than standard A-rated appliances, and could help lower your energy bills.

Adjustable shelves

Adjustable shelves make it easier to pack away your food items in a way that suits you. Simply move the shelves around the fridge to make room for large joints of meat, dessert that needs to set, or just leftovers.

Salad crisper

A salad compartment at the bottom of the fridge keeps your vegetables fresher for longer. Your greens will stay fresh and crispy for the ultimate crunch, making your salads taste fresher and more flavoursome.

Reversible doors

We all change our mind from time to time. That's why the CUC50W18 has a reversible door. So, don't worry if you decide to move your fridge freezer to another location in your kitchen - the doors can be switched to make it fit into a different space.

Not sure what the difference is but I have the CUC50W15 - which; spec-wise; is identical to this model? When I purchased, it was £99.99. Anyway, it's been a great little unit (so far) but I don't think it will beat my former Zanussi of 20yrs+ service!

Still, it's far easier to clean and defrost than the Zanussi but I will say it's noisier. This is down to the fact that the refrigerant is different - the old CFC models didn't "gurgle" as much as the newer ones. This took a little getting used to but; like all noises; does tend to disappear into the background after time. The one major plus I can add is the energy saving I have noticed. During winter especially, I had this thing down below the number "1" setting and it was still cold enough. I tried turning it down even further but it shuts the unit off then.

The only negative I can think of would be; again; related to noise. This machine makes noises that I've never heard (only having old CFC machines in the past) and aside from the gurgle of liquid it sometimes makes this kind of elongated "squeak" as if a mouse had it's tail trapped. BTW, I did check - it's not a mouse! Took me a while to work out where it was coming from. It only does it now and again though and it's quite comical actually...

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a low-cost, typical undercounter unit with a better sized compartment for frozen goods than the usual "ice-box" fridge.
