Very true, however Estwing hammers seem on the whole to be very balanced. There are some other hammers on clearance at Homebase, some Stanleys for a tenner each. But personally I stick with Estwing and Vaughan for general use type hammers

To be fair that is actually beautiful
Very good hammer, the leather molds to your hand shape over time, unlike a rubber handled hammer.

A thing of beauty.
I think it also has a lifetime warranty
Good buy
Heavy. Need 16oz.
Got the last one in my local store, cracking deal
Never thought I'd be saying this about a hammer..... It looks absolutely stunning
Good hammer, I have the rubber handle but have to admit that this one looks so much better.

Same
Leather Estwings are wonderful. I bought a leather geological hammer in my first week of university (we ordered on bulk & they were expensive then) & it's still like new over 20 years later. Imagine the crap it has been through in that time, including breaking the hardest rocks & being dropped in some strange places. We also have a leather Estwing axe which is great too. The blue plastic handled ones aren't as good, sadly.

I'm tempted just to make a trifecta. 😁
Had mine since 1992 and still use it most days! A heavy hammer suited for old fashioned 4” round wire nails! Not that you use them much now days, this is a bargain price
Must resist
The axe version of this was on 'How It's Made'. There's a vid on youtube.

Lovely hammers, but they don't stand up to proper site use and abuse. First and second fix, yes, anything else, no.

Blue handle infinitely more practical, and grippy, in an outdoor capacity.

At least half of any of these I have seen attempting to be used in more challenging conditions have failed and have the time honoured fix of the bottom cap bodged with a washer and nut!
Reserved as showing 3 available at my local store but they called and said they didn't have any. Tried another store and the same happened. Always seems to be the way at Homebase.
Online showed 2 available. Reserved one, got a call this morning saying they don't have them. Exactly the same happened for the Kinchrome plier sets earlier this week.. Gutted.. I'm such a tool tart.

I didn't bother reserving the nearest one to me because past experiences repeatedly proved to be identical to yours. Unless it is in front of you on the shelf at Homebase they probably don't have any stock, regardless of how many are showing on their reservation system.
Cheers maybe the mother in law will take me more seriously on my next visit
That's a fine looking claw hammer
Out of stock everywhere...
Cheap for a hammer.....
3 in stock this morning in my local.
2 after I picked one up.

0 when my mate went back 2 hours later to get one
