Etihad Airlines return flights from Manchester to Melbourne for £546 or Manchester to Sydney from £551. Return flights to Brisbane are also available for around £570. Deal link goes to Flight Scout powered by Skyscanner to show the different dates available in February and March as well as a few other months, one connection in Abu Dhabi for flights to Melbourne. Price includes 23kg luggage. Also flights are available from London for around £30 more. Thought was a really decent price for a more premium airline.

If this is available through Etihad you can always have a 2 day lay over in Abu Dhabi, with etihad paying the hotel.

Wish there were Australia flight deals over Xmas!

The dates I'm looking at the cheapest is £1300 return for decent airlines and flight durations...
It is with etihad though.

Cheers
I paid £500 return on Emirates 8 years ago so this is a good deal. Australia is worth at least a month stay though. I extended mine to a year with STA for £50 😁

Wouldnt worry too much. I love spiders and snakes, and much to the Australian girl who I was dating at the times horror, I spent most of a month trying to find deadly spiders and snakes.

The worst thing I found was a small crab on the beach.

You don’t see them unless you go looking specifically for them

Is it free hotel or free stop over as booking a multi city flight (multiple destinations) is normally always more expensive than booking a direct flight.

If they are giving it for same fare as booking a normal return flight then its a good deal

It might be booked through multiple stops but it shouldn't effect the price by much as you would fly into Abu Dhabi anyway. The hotel is paid for by Etihad.

Click the link, it will describe it better than me, you will also see the hotel choices, which are very good.

Have family there ........ and never been to aus

Nice to visit Family.

Adelaide is a very quiet dowdy kind of place.

Pubs and Restaurants shut down relatively early 10pm if I remember correctly.

Supermarkets open at 5pm till 12 mid night

Compared to places like Melbourne, Sydney and even Perth it pales in comparison.

I flew from Manchester to Adelaide via Dubai was there for the Cricket WC a few years ago.

To be honest Australia is a beautiful place to visit. Only minus point is the very long flight time it’s a killer. Otherwise Feb to March perfect weather wise. Very friendly people a few social issues with the Aboriginal ppl in Perth.

Didn’t see any when we went to Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane - what a place!!
I flew with Air China last year and got it for £412 (london-sydney) also had a 12 hour layover in Beijing, stayed a month but even at this price it's still cheap! Used internal flights to travel around Cairns/Brisbane/Melbourne which are very reasonably priced too.

1 spider bite death in the last 40 years in Oz. No need to worry.
25 snake deaths in the last decade, so 2.5 per year.
Shark deaths are 1.5 per year as are crocodile deaths, although you can visit most of the big cities and not be within 500 miles of a wild crocodile.

So these might seem scary but there were over 700 road fatalities last year in Oz. As a place to visit goes it is statistically one of the safest destinations in the world. Infact j saw a YouTube video that compared the safest destinations in the world, and Australia was in the top 10 safest whilst the UK was 14 worst and the USA was a top 1p worst.

Im looking to travel to Sydney in Feb next year, anyone got any feedback on which is best, Etihad, Emirates or Qatar? Not much price difference between the 3 when I want to go.

Emirates and Qatar are good. I preferred Emirates but maybe because it was my first solo flight...to Australia!

Emirates

If you can get a Business class upgrade(cheeky)
does the 2 day stop over have to be used at one time. Or can we book 1 stop over one way and 1 the next?
Also, does anyone have any experience of the available hotels? Just wondered how easy to get to and from the hotel. Thanks
