Brilliant price, great for anyone setting up home. Hot!

Thats a great deal

BEWARE: If this a is student starter set it's probably just a bottle opener and a Dominos menu :whistling:

Thanks Holly, great price

I love the relevance of a colour box

Hmm. No denying a decent price but surely a student starter kit would have plates, bowls, cups, glasses and maybe a baking tray too? It's a bit misleading - its a pan set with a few extras really.

And as for a paring knife... I had 1 knife at uni and I don't think I 'pared' anything in my four years there :-D

Given that when I went to halls I went there with 24 other people who had ALL brought a frying pan, cutlery, plates etc (and within a week we were all sharing) I would advise students to buy cheap stuff from pound land, you'll only end up using the tefal frying pan that the student with the rich parents brought (and a plate is a plate!!)

so true though:-D

If your son or daughter is going away to uni, it would be more fun if you re-stock your own kitchen and give them som of your old stuff, its bound to be better quality ! Costs more but its a good excuse to get shopping yourself!!

Can't help thinking the chopsticks were included as an easy option for upping the piece number.

£22 now :\

Only if Poundland sells cutlery for £1 each rather than £1 a box...do you mean crockery?

If so, all a student needs is 1x set of cheap cutlery, 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 x utensils set, a wok (Home Bargains), couple of pint glasses, maybe some tea towels and a grater and mixing bowl. You could easily get that lot for a tenner. The set in the deal doesn't have half those things. Quality doesn't matter when you're going to stick it all in a shared kitchen and half of it will go walkabout in the first 6 months anyway:whistling:

yeah, i don't mean to say cutlery meant for the pots etc. disagree you only need 1x everything though, unless you're not expecting anyone to come round to yours.

would rather use plastic cutlery than the crap from the pound shop, they bend if you try use them on anything semi-solid. much better to get a cheap-ish 20-24 piece set from ASDA which has 4 of each piece,

tbh going to ASDA or Tesco would be better value than the pound shop even if it is slightly more expensive it'll last longer
