I received an email from Eufy (Anker's new brand) with an introductory offer on this lovely man gadget (I've always fancied one!). Seems there is 20 percent off until the 8th December 2016 so a chance to get yourself one of these grown up domestic gadgets to wrap up for yourself or loved one

I love the feature where you can control the roboVac yourself as well as it being automated... Why let the Kids be the only ones with remote control vehicles on Christmas day!

Anyway after a short period of consultation with myself I decided to make the plunge and give it a go as the reviews read well (I was concerned about its ability to clean the carpets/ hardwood floors effectively) and the Hepa filtration sealed the deal with my allergies.

Anyway here are the features... Merry Christmas to me...

Cleans For You: Clean your house with the click of a button. Versatile cleaning modes clean every nook and cranny.

High-Capacity Li-ion Battery: Delivers over 1.5 hours of fade-free power for constant, powerful suction.

3-Point Cleaning System: Side brushes, a rolling brush and powerful suction ensure a thorough clean.

Premium Features: Anti-scratch tempered glass cover for protection, infrared-sensor for evading obstacles, and drop-sensing tech to avoid falls. Recharges automatically.

What You Get: Eufy RoboVac 11, remote control (requires 2 AAA batteries, not included), charging base, AC power adapter, cleaning tool, HEPA-style filter, 4 side brushes, welcome guide and our worry-free 12-month warranty.

Wish I was, could have saved me 160 quid!

didn't know I needed this...

Anker products are great. This is much cheaper than the Rombu (spelling) one that you see the cats you see riding then on YouTube. How does it compare? anyone know?

remote control?! does that mean it's got no intelligence... albeit bouncing off my skirting boards?

160 for a robot vacuum, that's cold my brother

how does it compare?

I've got the Vileda one & it's not cracking, ends up going round in circles until it bumps into something to change it's direction.

Quite tempted by this

Couple of key points from the article:

The RoboVac 11 doesn’t seem to really have any sort of pattern that it uses to clean a room or home, but it does seem to get everywhere. It has an infrared sensor on the front, which helps it find out when it’s getting close to another object.

Now while this is meant for carpet, the RoboVac 11 did find its way into my kitchen and bathroom, two rooms that are hardwood and tile respectively. It cleaned those rooms just like it did the rest of my apartment. So it can really clean your entire house, but there are some areas that it’ll have trouble, like behind the toilet.

The way I read it was its fully robotic unless you want to override & control it yourself.

Way more battery power than a cordless Dyson

I have two Roombas I wouldn't waste my money on this, you either want to get a Roomba or a Neato to do a good job.

What models are you talking about as I know there are lots of models. My budget was limited so this looked like the best bang for buck.

So you've owned this product before?

Well I've taken the plunge and ordered. I don't have Prime so free delivery between 2nd and 9th. Hope I can avoid vacuuming again before it arrives

Avoid. Spend a little more and get a Botvac - they come up now and again on warehouse and can be snatched with the 20% discount promotion.

It navigates better, has better suction, brush design and is proven (with spares and support available worldwide). This is merely a rebranded Aliexpress type vacuum which can be bought for much less elsewhere.

Don't be taken in by the Hype, all the reviews on Amazon are by "I received this product at a discount or to produce a non bias review". I really hope Amazon ban these reviews soon. I have to laugh at some of the features, I mean, what is a 'HEPA style filter' - basically a filter that functions nothing at all like a HEPA filter!

P.S. I currently own a Botvac Connected but have family members with the normal Botvac, and also a couple of friends with Roomba's (from the older models to the 980's). I wouldn't recommended the Roomba's either.

I have owned two similar over the years complete waste of money, there's a reason why it's cheap.

Appreciate the deal is over now, but I've had this this over a week and I'm impressed. It gets around all sorts of places where I would expect it to struggle/get stuck. Other than messing around to show people, I've only need to use auto mode. It simply goes around vacuuming then docks itself when the job is done. I'm not sure what criteria it uses but the place is clean when it decides to stop. Now I just need one to hang up the washing and to unload the dish-washer please...

I would like to see this vacuum robot on a sale again. I would buy it for £160 but can't justify spending £200 on it. Unfortunately, it's not available on any of these Chinese websites such as gearbest etc. Amazon is currently selling it for 200.
