Good deal although I prefer the Eufy Cam 2 cameras myself

Are they better quality image?
The consistent criticism with these Eufy cameras is they miss the start of the action or it's pixelated for the first few seconds. On the TP link movement operated cameras i have, they constantly monitor for movement. If they detect it, the recording starts a few seconds before, there's no pixelation. Surely then just a software issue for Eufy (Anker)
Good deal. Been waiting to buy these. Plan is to get the 2c and then add extra cam 2's of needed and possibly their doorbell if the release of without a hub or the wired version
Is this 24/7 recording or motion based recording?

Motion only afaik
I feel scammed of £10 . I only purchased it for £199 few weeks back and was feeling happy thinking it was good deal and now this deal turns up . Now I can’t rest thinking what I could have spent that £10 saving on

TP link movement operated camera?

What would you recommend?
I've got the kc200 outdoor cameras, and kc110 and 100 indoors. I'm pleased with both reliability and quality. They only record on movement, but you can view the feed anytime through the app. They are different to the Eufy in that they require constant power. I'm not saying its the perfect set up, just highlighting the difference with the movement detection.
Bought this 6 weeks ago very easy to set up yourself, amazing picture quality and battery life. Highly recommend

Thanks @BlackCloud

Will have a look at those.

...and do they have the issues described in some reviews with pixelated recordings at the start, and slow to record human shapes? Are they failing to recognise human shapes if carrying a box or rucksack? These are the things mentioned in the reviews. Basically the Eufy cam saves recording unnecessary movements if they are not recognised as human. Genuinely interested in buying these for a relatives house where wiring his difficult.

Do they record any activity if the internet is down ? I have crappy virgin network and internet is down often so the Homebase is showing as off . Does it means it’s not recording anything?
Get the Eufycam 2, its way better

I come home from work every day with my rucksack on & it records that, Ive not walked past with a box yet. All recordings are great theres no pixelation at start recording. The motion sensor has 7 settings low being 1, high being 7 you just have to play around with it till you find the best one for you. It did miss the odd thing at first but we highered the sensor a couple more & it seems ok now.
I am tempted for ease of install as I was looking at a 4k reolink install that was circa £500 for 4 cams on an 8 channel system.

Problem with that is the nvr will be in the loft. Due to recent decorationing cant run cable to the router and not sure how good a wireless bridge would work.

Too many decisions lol

It's the better system but twice the price and routing the cables through walls and back to a central hub is the difficult bit for many.

If only the arlo 4k version would drop in price. Cant justify 1k for 4 cameras

I know someone with the Arlo but they are a lot richer than me! :-) They are very pleased with it.

I think as long as the cameras and homebase have power it will still record you just won't be able to access the footage until there is an internet connection
I have the Arlo pro 2 kit. It is okay but I get a lot false alerts from foxes and cats. You have to subscribe to get intelligent notifications. Also the batteries need recharging every 4-5 weeks. Also my Arlo cost over twice as much as the ufy. If I was buying today, it would definitely be the ufy.

You may have missed the point of these cameras then - they are designed to be battery operated and 365 day battery life, hence them only recording when movement is detected. For me they work well as I have no way of routing power to where I would need it
Is there a 5% off code available for the Eufycam 2?

Thanks , that’s reassuring . So far I’ve had this for few weeks and fairly impressed but my Virgin broadband seems to have gone downhill so the signal is quite patchy . It’s good to know they’ll still be recording the motion when I internet is down .

Thanks but I know the difference. I pointed out the TP Link cameras require constant power in difference to the Eufy cameras.
I have these, had them for about 3 months now. Overall we're very happy with them. Picture/sound quality is great. Yes the picture quality is ever so pixelated when you view the live stream for 1-2 secs. It's not like you can't see anything though, it just isn't crystal clear for 2 seconds. Recording is fine. I have had issues of it not picking up people but that was sorted by playing with the motion sensitivity. They don't need a cloud based subscription which is very rare.
I got this camera when the voucher code stuff was here. it was 169.99. This isnt really a deal.

I returned it because there is a lot of issues with motion detection. I just googled if for you and this might be the right link:

It’s only been few weeks so I’m not sure how it will work in long run but so far it’s been brilliant. For this price take a dip as the Homebase for this can also be used for newer version of camera if you wish .
Can these be backed up online as well as locally.

As if someone breaks into your house they are going to take the home hub knowing that is where the footage is stored.

The footage will be on your phone/tablet via the app they can steal your homebase but can't delete anything without your password

it’s always those French and Germans that gets the better deals than us isn’t it ?
Seems to be the standard price drop on Amazon. Haven't been lower although camel camel camel say they are not updating at the moment in Europe at the request of Amazon...... wonder why

Motion detection only is a no go for me. Had the Arlo which is similar, only does 10 second clips for motion detection. Goes off constantly when the washing is out, and if anything does happen the police are reluctant to use data as the clips are so short and often cross over two clips (if at all) or cut off half way through a crime
40742451-c8fun.jpgI’ve had Ring stick up HD cams, Blink XT2s, and various others all of which I’ve returned because of battery, recording, picture, subscription issues etc. I’ve now got a TP Link C100 indoor cam well under cover in the porch of the house with an old micro SD card in and can’t fault it. the picture quality is great, motion detection better than any of the others and the app is absolutely spot on.
Yes if somebody steals it’s I’m knackered as no cloud recording but as a bit of a deterrent and the cost of £19.97 I can live with it 40742451-ZABai.jpg

The max it will record at one go is 2 mins then it’ll need min 5sec gap before it triggers another recording . There are options to play with clip length 5sec to 2min . Retrigger gap 5sec to 60sec .
