hard pass since it works for apple iOS alone. I got a pair of tile pros. happy with them

Works on android using eufy app

To clear this up for those questioning.

The Eufy tags WILL work with Android but only utilising bluetooth so is limited to about 50-80ft, so really only useful for keeping track of items that you will lose in a small vicinity.

They do however work brilliantly with iOS, they utilise the FindMy system and work just as well as the airtags. We recently were moving house and I attached one to a cat that used to go walkies, with this and a cheap iPhone SE, I was able to keep track of the little rascal and locate him on the night before we moved, and since we moved we have been able to let him go in the new area without concern due to the proliferation of iPhones about.

They work so well that I actually bought another load for various purposes, but honestly if you have an iPhone these are an absolute steal and work just as well as the airtags, a bit cheaper in manufacture but pretty robust. If you own an android and want a cheap tracker, pick up a cheap iPhone above a specific iOS and you are golden.

    Would not hesitate to recommend!

thanks for this extensive feedback. I didn't want to buy cos of its half-baked support for android but I've a change of heart. bought a pair. I got an iOS device tho 🤷🏾‍♂️

Forgive my ignorance but how is this different from an AirTag?
    rodney_jxl's avatar
Just cheaper basically. But doesnt have the more accurate system that tells you how far the unit is from the phone.

    try check this out

Eufy devices cannot be trusted. "Despite claims of only using local storage with its security cameras, Eufy has been caught uploading identifiable footage to the cloud. And it’s even possible to view the camera streams using VLC." -- The Verge

To make matters worse, Eufy LIED to cover their tracks.

Also search for Linus Tech Tips coverage on Eufy. (edited)

I have one of these and every time it gets moved it plays a little jingle. I can't find out why and Eufy support can't tell me either. Useless garbage as far as I'm concerned.

If you go to the Eufy app and check for update for the tag, 1.5.6 has something called ‘False press prevention’. That seems to stop accidental presses making the tag beep. Just found the update… Might need to update the app too.

Worth waiting for Google IO today - we might get details of new Android tag tracking solutions

If they do finally release something I reckon it’ll be set at AirTag prices not Eufy ones

I already have an air tag but thinking of getting this as a cheaper alternative to put on keys/suitcases. Should I just stick and buy another air tag?
    Spam_Shopping's avatar
It works 'nearly' as well as an Apple tag for half the price. Not quite as good a finding it from close up as it doesn't have a UWB chip and not as well built, but has a loop so no need to buy an additional case to attach it to keys.

great deal, thank you, wonder if any details on the Card version?

    VOTED HOT
    rodney_jxl's avatar
looks like same price on Eufy site but Im gonna get from Amazon as its pretty much next day delivery

There also seems a deal on the wallet version of the device on both sites (£23.99 instead of £29.99)
  9. eugene.oconnor's avatar
Would that work as a tracker device for a car?
    leelukehope's avatar
No it wouldn’t be any good for that. You need something with a built in GPS that can connect to the internet on its own to send its location. That sort of tech needs a constant power supply, hence why aftermarket vehicle trackers are not this cheap or small. (edited)

I was looking at something like this for an expensive bike in case of theft. How long does battery last? I'm android so can't do air tags unfortunately. I do have other eufy security devices
    nanuek's avatar
Battery should last a year but they're nearly useless on Android for crowd sourced tracking.

Best bet on Android is probably Tile or the Samsung offering as they have the largest user bases and therefore the highest chance of someone with the "right" phone getting within bluetooth range.

Alternatively, can you get hold of an old iPhone or iPad just for registering "Find My" devices? Might be worth it if the bike is pricey. Just make sure it's a sufficiently recent iPhone/iPad. I quick Google suggests anything that runs iOS 14.5 or later.

Good price, good tag, no “holder” accessories needed. Hot deal.
    jujuzeez's avatar
reason why I bought them. the hole itself sold it for me. don't need to buy other needless accessories to hold keys or other stuff
  12. onotron's avatar
Don't understand why this specifically says it doesn't work with Android? I have one and it does work if you download the Eufy app. Wonder if they're dropping Android support - (it is a bit rubbish I guess)?
    GrimDanFango's avatar
It's just a badly worded product description. It's only the 'Apple Find My' feature that only works with iOS. You can use the Eufy app as you say for Android devices, it's just not as good. OP needs to correct the title.

Works on Andriod via the Eufy security app.
    jujuzeez's avatar
    oh okay

Damn wish I needed to buy more. I like them more than AirTags
  15. BB89.'s avatar
I'm confused. All those asking if there's a decent android equivalent to airtag, the Samsung tag + is probably it, if you have a Samsung of course . Large userbase and plus version has uwb and can be used as a button for switching on lights etc and seems to work very well on tracking from my experience.
    jujuzeez's avatar
    true. quite expensive though
  16. avinine86's avatar
Save your money, doesn’t work as expected. Purchased 5 of them with a blind hope it works but even if the tracker is near by, app doesn’t detect it. Waste!
    Spam_Shopping's avatar
Have you selected ‘Always allow location’ in the permissions for the app? I find if I select ‘Only when using app’ for location it doesn’t find the tags. Daft way to have it set up to be honest…

Best way to find them though is via the iOS Find My app, admittedly of no use on Android.
  17. Harry_Potter's avatar
You cannot truly share these as suggested. You add to your findmy app and only you can see it

It’s like Tile, other family members can see it the eufy app
    wdh's avatar
It is Apple’s limitation that a FindMy tag is linked to an individual’s AppleID.
I have no idea why Apple do let you share your own location but not your tags’.

However the Eufy app does allow sharing, so, within Bluetooth range, all the family (using Apple or Android) could search for the tv remote. You can’t do that with an AirTag! (edited)

Think you get 6% cashback from Quidco if you purchase directly from Eufy

Ordered one for a suitcase for up and coming holiday.
    oynedy's avatar
I was going to do the same thing but it appears that these might be banned from the aircraft hold in the UK if switched on. The batteries have to be removed for flight which defeats the object of having one on your suitcase. Probably best to check with the airline.

Could I track and disable my eufy alarms with this? Using an Androids phone alone isn't as fast as I'd like to be, many times I triggered my own alarm before it could disabled for me.
  21. grant.evans's avatar
Had 3 of these turn up yesterday. just as good as an air tag if not better imo. only thing its missing is precise tracking, but I use an old iPhone so I don't get this even with the AirTag anyway.

love the fact it has the button to help find your phone and always missed this feature when I stopped using tiles.
    jujuzeez's avatar
tile pro got the button too. 🏾

Anyone on android able to get the left behind alerts to work? I've tried with my Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 4a 5G and neither does anything when it goes out of range
    jujuzeez's avatar
dont worry, google announced at i/o event last week that 'find my device' will work with major third-party tracking devices later this year. tile, eufy etc will benefit from google opening the api to them.
