Not the same thing. If you have kids you'll realise that a dedicated monitor works the best.

Not too good. I saw this yesterday but I didn't post it up as the discount is purely to entice people to buy it ("£60 off, corr what a bargain!!!") and although it comes with a display, there's a lot of remote cameras on sale for as little as £15/£20 which can be controlled by a smartphone. No point paying a premium just because it includes a separate display.

Also you can't view footage away from home.... "This baby monitor does not have internet connection so you can not use this product far away from home."

If you have children, you will realise these are much better than a camera and the phone. With these, you can have the display all the time, while with the camera and the phone, you either receive notifications or you have to check the phone constantly. Our house is full of smart technology, including cameras, but our video monitor gets used much more than anything else.

I agree the £60 off is enticing people, however £99 is a good price, and this is not really a security camera and does not need remote viewing. Most baby monitors do not have this. It also allows the screen to be off but for sound to come through the device.

It's more of a baby monitor, like angelcare or the bt ones.
Voted hot, this is a good monitor for the price and has lots of advantages against cheaper cameras linked to the phone. You will only know this if you have kids and you used both, cameras and monitor.
Fair point, I didn't think about the "always on" advantage of a display screen.

Our cat was crawling in the baby cot quite often, sat on baby's face. Didn't matter what we were doing, she will always find her way there. Also, sometimes when the baby was not well, especially when he was not capable to turn himself, always on display helped.

Why is that?
We have this one and it's brilliant. Destroys the BT/Motorola ones and wifi cameras (agree you need a dedicated monitor!)

Brilliant screen resolution and battery life.

Got it for the same price during Black Friday.

The monitor display is always on an on your eye reach. If you want to check on the phone, you have to reach for the phone, type the password/use finger print, switch the screen on, open the app. This is particularly good and convenient at night. If you hear noise in baby's room, you open your eyes and look at the monitor to assess the situation. If you use a phone, by the time you're in the app it's easier to be in baby's room. Not saying a camera and a phone is not good, I am saying a dedicated monitor is better.

Thanks ordered this and also saved an extra £6.00 on top of the £60.00 by using some Amazon promotion on their gift card balance they had...
