Think only the battery version of the doorbell has the videos stored on the homebase inside the house, but then again it needs monitoring of the batteries...
Yes, I believe this is the case. I however have a NAS drive on my network, and I believe this device support ONVIF, so I will record to the NAS, so they will be remotely stored off the actual device.
Shows as local storage on the images. I believe the wireless (battery) version stores to the chime with a memory card. Seems a step back...
I didn't find anywhere to say it supports ONVIF and the answers on Amazon indicate it doesn't.
If it supports ONVIF it would be good coz then you can put it on the NVR too.
I find it strange why they would do it like this, especially considering this is the updated model with 2k resolution...

Maybe I've been misled, I was of the understanding this supported ONVIF, but possibly not. I'll keep digging.

The one with the Homebase loses footage too. Although it’s stored on the Homebase, it needs to do something known as a token swap with the doorbell or you cannot access footage.
You want the model with the micro SD in the chime. I believe that one is OK.
I believe it mentions on the amazon page that it has a pre-buffer?
I'm not 100% sure as I have the homebase aswell but I can watch the stream in the app.

Yes you can
Perfect for me. Only issue I've ever had was because I didn't have phone signal and missed the alert. I have a camera aswell though, so I only use the doorbell for rings rather than general activity/events.
