So buying this would mean what in terms of warranty or guarantee? To be fair I have never ended up using the warranty for a CPU so I think it's got to be some serious bad luck for anything to go wrong.

Amazon would take it back, you'd just have to return it, but you also have 3 years with Intel anyway.
First time I've seen a price on an i7 since the 4790k and thought it was just about acceptable. Hot.
If it wasn't for the Z390 platform and high probability of a mainstream intel 8 core before this year is out I would be tempted.

You will unlikely need warranty for CPU, that component rarely break, probably the most reliable part of a pc.
HOT price

Depending on what motherboard you have you may be able to pick up a cheap 6 core Xeon for that socket!

i5 750 is painfully slow by today's standards, depending on your GPU there could be a massive bottleneck.
More than likely you're stuck using a board with USB 2.0 and SATA II so an SSD will lose around 50% of its read/write performance.

I'd be all over this if I wasn't waiting to see what AMD's new chips bring to the table next month.

If you don't buy cpus because better ones are coming out in the future, you don't buy cpus at all
