Euro 2016 Final - Practically free shot at a million quid £5 @ Bet Victor

Hi All.

Obviously betting isn't for everyone, but this is more like a free lottery ticket than a bet.

One of the bookies (BetVictor) is doing a promotion where you can win a million quid on the Euro 2016 final. One bet of £5 on the final gives you an opportunity to predict the first goalscorer and minute they'll score, if you get it right you could win a million.

They currently have a sign up offer too, so if you bet your £5 you will get £20 back in free bets making it practically free to enter.

There's 5520 possible combinations (46 players x 120 minutes) so even if you just randomly picked a scorer and minute the odds are far better than doing any lottery.

If other people get it right obviously you would have to share the pay-out, but it would probably still be a very decent amount.

Presumably choosing 45 or 90 still counts the additional time as the same minute...

However, someone with lots of time and cash on their hands could potentially cover all 5520 combinations with 5520 x £5 bets for an outlay of £27600 and to make a loss there'd have to be more than 36 winners. I'd love it if somebody did that and it ended 0-0 after extra time

Would surely require 27,600 accounts... and when it comes to withdraw, he'd need some ID in the name of the account he used.

Note: Total HUKD Members online now 21,403. I think we could discount extra time and goalkeepers and get this number down. We all throw a fiver into the pot and take £40 of profit out of it.

If it doesnt come in for a 0-0 or goalkeeper goal, then we've only lost a fiver.

Im in at 8/1 of it not going to 0-0.

I really like the logic but not sure of the method of allocation of player and time... and how we can be sure the winner will share!

As it's a £5 bet not a £1, surely it's 5520 accounts?
There's more than 46 x 120 combinations as the rules include penalty kicks if the match ends 0-0.

Gambling in moderation is no more stupid than blowing £100 on booze every friday night & waking up the next morning without being able to remember a thing. And millions of people do that.

I have my own methods for a perm on football matches & make money every season.
Not massive amounts, only about £1000-£2000 over a season but that's because I only do £10 a week at £1 a line.
Still it's like having my holiday paid for every year.

I assume nobody went for Eder in the 109th minute then?!

I had Griezmann 31, which was a minute largely full of frustrating throw ins but with a few seconds left the ball did go near him in the penalty area which resulted in much excitement in my house followed by the crushing inevitability that I'd be back at work today after all!

Wasn't all bad though, I only opened an account to have a shot at this, and made £17.50 profit from my tenner bet on Portugal to win at 7/4.
