Good price for that size, I need a waterproof one don't mind smaller
Sorry, we can’t find the page you’re looking for.
Anyone know if the straps on this would fit a 9 year old? Struggling to find a decent size rucksack for kids. It doesn't need to carry lots of weight, just bulky Arctic sleeping bags and goretex bivvy bags. His current Jack Wolfskin one only just fits his arctic bag (Which is adult size, in the absence of any kids ones) which leave sme carrying an unfeasible amount whenever we got for a night in the woods.

Had a close look at the pics (no dimensions anywhere online for straps) and I'd say it's probably too big for your lad, although I am basing that off the size of my tall and skinny 9 year old niece. Will be picking up in next couple of days so will update when I've had a proper look.
I have this one, used it for travelling and it held up well the whole time, despite a lot of use over a six month period.

I'm six foot and it was a great fit for me but there are plenty of adjustable straps if you're bigger or smaller.

Comment above is right, loads of room for adjustment. I'd say it should definitely be okay for a 9 year old, perhaps a bit on the roomy side but by no means "too big" once adjusted properly. It's a lovely bag.

That's good to know. The main problem with others I've tried is that when the shoulder straps are fully tightened, the waist/hip band is way too low for him. Any thoughts on that aspect of the bag? Thanks btw..

For reference, I'm around 5'5 and the top strap is just above my bust and the "hip" strap comes more around my lower waist. The bag falls just at the bottom of my back so my legs aren't covered or hindered at all. I tried it on my 5 year old and the hip strap comes about mid-thigh on him. I think this bag would be fine for you.

He's 4'5''. I'm thinking that extra foot difference may well mean the hip strap will be too low for him.

For 20 quid would it be worth trying? Can always return it if its not right... I'll keep my eyes peeled over next couple of weeks and reply to this thread if I find anything that might be suitable. Happy hunting!
