Loved Pierrefonds it’s also the castle where Merlin is filmed! And I second that bakery at the bottom of the hill does the best cakes a coffee!!! Disney is 55 mins from the site and Parc asterix roughly 40 minutes

Voted hot for the price but I do not think Oct is the best time to go in this kind of places. This is very cheap, but in Sept or Oct is cheap anyway. As an idea, we went at end of Aug last year in one of these places, was £800 a week, in Sept was £200. Well, £99 is better than £200 anyway.

Been to la croix du veiux pont once a year for the last 4 years. Love the place, weather not great in October though, Alfresco also good with a great position of mobile homes on the site, all vans close to the bottom lake with loads of space around them. Try June to September for the best weather.

Every time we have been has been the October half term and we have always had good weather, sometimes warm enough for just a t shirt.

I'm not saying the weather is bad, but I don't think is great for this type of holiday. I was referring if going with children, as it is during school holidays. You can't use the pool, unless they have an indoor one, as far as I am aware the kids entertained and club end on 1st Sept. If kids are older and you're looking for a place to sleep and do other stuff, yes, probably fine. Mine are 5 and 2, so they need the eurocamp type of activities. Never been in Oct (apart for once, but in Tenerife where is hot in Oct) so you probably know better, what I know is that this May, in Spain, we had to wear a jacket in the evening and one of my kids didn't go in the pool, as it was too cold.

Indoor pool.
Are refugees loitering around the place?

All the pools are open from the day the park opens till the day the park closes, we was here in June this year the heat was ridiculously hot it hit 38 degrees for the whole 10 days after we left it hit the 40s! According to the owners of the park it’s still mid 20s towards end of seasons so still nice weather for swimming and activities
Where are you finding a ferry for £50 return? Over £120 usually.

Has anyone ever done one of these holidays without a car?

Never done it without a car 🚘 But you could always hire a car the other side to get around. La Croix du Vieux Pont for instance is over a good 200 miles from Calais so a car is a must. Or if you flew in to Charles de Gaulle airport you could always get a cab? So dependent on which park you choose would depend on the car situation. Hope you have a good time if you book!

No just the t shirt it's a very tolerant society.
We've stayed at Pra’delle Torri, Union Lido, Marina di Venezia, all great - but huge camps, if you can get out of synch with others it's great - we always flew and hired cars as these are a good trek from airport - large enough you could stay on site and manage without a car, but challenge to get there.

We did a Eurocamp last September and that was only just over £100 for the week - so some deals to be had.
Any last minute July holiday deals guys any help would be much appreciated

Yes. Recommend the sites near Venice no car needed. A bus runs from the airport along the peninsula to all the campsites.

We stayed at Marina de Venezia (booking direct) although various companies have caravans there. It is a large and excellent site. But there are various campsites all along the coast of Cavallino-Treporti to Jesolo served by the airport bus
