Eurosport Player £19.99 for 12 months via Gift Subscription.

Found 3rd May
With the Giro d'Italia on its way I've been looking at getting EuroSport player to use with my Chromecast (I don't have/want Sky) but I didn't like £59.99 12month subscription or the current £29 until the end of the year.

Anyway I was messing around on their website and discovered if you select "Gift EuroSport Player" it's only £19.99 for 12 months.

If you sign up for the Gift subscription you get emailed a promo code that you can then use to add the subscription to your account.

Any idea on how long the gift code is valid for? Assuming the 12 months starts from when you redeem it.

Edit: looking at the FAQ, seems to say for gifts you choose somewhere when it starts - any idea how far in the future it can be set?

Could you see if in the email you presumably got with the code if it mentions anything in the email about an expiry date please?

I got the bit about an option for a date from looking here, although it may be wrong then - uk.eurosportplayer.com/faq…tml?qid=116:

- Then go to http://www.eurosportplayer.co.uk/subscription-gift.shtml- … - Then go to http://www.eurosportplayer.co.uk/subscription-gift.shtml- Fill in all the necessary fields such as name, surname, email address etc… - Fill in the required information regarding the person you wish to offer this gift to, such as name, surname, their e-mail address and a confirmation of their e-mail address. - Choose your payment method, tick the necessary boxes and validate your payment.- You will be sent an email with the voucher code to give to your friend or relative and a gift card you can print and give to her/him- This gift will then be visible in your Account in Give the Eurosport Player tabYou will be asked a date on which you wish for this subscription to begin.

They ought to introduce red button!

paid 20 for subscription..and i cannot use it on phone..they asking another 7 per month to use it on the phone or tablet...hmmm

Does Eurosport actually show anything worthwhile?

If you're a Cycling fan it's the best channel, however until they introduce some kind of on demand service it's just about useless for most people.

Great I can't wait to watch second division Belgian handball and Swiss under-18 gymnastics qualifiers.

No mention of a date, just a code to use in the "promo code". how long did you want to keep it? could always ask them on Twitter.

Yes, variety of great sports. Eurosport is best imo during the winter sports season, and also next year is the Winter Olympics.

App for the Xbox One has vanished

This deal seems good so voted hot

The TVPlayer App also has EuroSport and 20odd more channels for £5.99 pm
It gets good reviews so worth a look possibly.
If you want to see a specific cycling event then they give 1 months free trial so that could tide someone over for a race or two...

no Eurosport on free trial

Eurosport romania had some football? But was 360p and not on demand and wasn't in english... so I switched back to beinsports (Premier League Pass was awesome but was shut down).

I can't remember if you needed to sign up in Romania or just use a VPN / Hola for it

https://thevpn.guru/unblock-eurosport-player-usa-australia-canada

Premier League (only for Romania)
UEFA Europa League (only for Poland and Scandinavia)
La Liga (only for Denmark)
Ligue 1 (only for the Netherlands)
Italian Serie A (only for Denmark and the Netherlands)

and don't forget
Greek Basket League (only for Poland)

I'm sure I remember signing up in Romania and was a lot cheaper...

a few euros a month

but they didn't have every game

I also looked into DAZN but they didn't have every game... beinsports is good value $19.99 for every game

Do you get all those national variations covered on this deal? I understand you'd have to use VPN, or be in xyz particular country at the time, due to rights issues, but does the price cover all that if you were?

Eurosport Deutschland is free to air on satellite 19.2 east if anyone's interested. They have live FA Cup rights, including 3pm's, and plenty of the matches otherwise shown by BT Sport in the UK. Also live Champions and Europa League on other German channels on the same satellite. The boxing PPV was live and free-to-air on RTL last weekend as well.

Just move your dish or buy an extra LNB and some self amalgamating tape for a couple of quid on eBay.

Yes. I was using a dns service and they had it as Romania. I think I used hola too. So I definitely saw some Liverpool games. Injust stopped as was low res and in Romanian and I think didn't have all games. Beinsports was in english and I was spendijg too long matching up commentary on radio app on my phone!

I also recall being a cheapskate and signing up via Romania but that wasn't necessary. I got UK eurosport on my phone or pc if didn't use dns or vpn. And Romanian if using dns or vpn

They have every tennis slam now as well. Underrated channel, always has been.
It's hot from me.

yeah, got it for the tennis for one month last year.

it's a decent channel, BUT:
I couldn't get the phone, tablet, xbox, ps4 or samsung smart tv apps to work - really frustrating.
I could only watch it through a PC, which worked fine.

well done. this was last year so they may have sorted it out since, but it was advertised as being watchable on all those platforms.

I think now they only support the app on mobile devices or computers or "casting" content to big screens from devices.

Used it on Chromecast last night no problems. The UX a bit basic and could do with some work but video quality and reliability was good.

This morning the £19.99/12 month subscription Gift offer was still available. 5 Hours later and just about to press the button the offer has changed to : £29.99 until the end of the year. Which is basically the standard rate. I should have bought it when I had the chance. On principal I can't buy it now.

For those confused as to how to use Eurosport Player on multiple platforms: make sure you sign up for it via a regular web browser on a PC or Mac. You will then get a 'Multiscreen' subscription which ALSO allows usage on tablet & phone apps (and Chromecast etc).

If you sign up within, say, the Android app it will only work on Android devices - nothing else.

It's ridiculously confusing but is confirmed here:

uk.eurosportplayer.com/faq…tml?qid=161

"I bought my subscription through the website :
You can subscribe to Multi-screen offers on our website only (from a PC/Mac).
..
I bought my subscription via the App Store, Google Play:
Your active subscription remains unchanged and you still can use it on your smartphone or your tablet."

thanks! very useful

I used to use Eurosport Player with my Android phone cas, within the Eurosport app, to a Chromecast. Stopped working on all Chromecast devices a few days ago. Can only watch on pc or phone or mirror the phone itself to Chromecast which is nowhere near as reliable as via the app. Eurosport don't seem to be able to fix the problem. Bought lots of Chromecasts because all the TV apps where discontinued and now they don't work.

Still working on 10th Sept - could be unexpired.
