The Louvre museum in Paris is a great place to visit and it's free! Closed on a weekday though, Wednesday I think.
going by plane myself - little bit more expensive but way more convinient. Good deal for those who want/need to go via eurostar
You have to pay me to go to France via the Eurostar with all the migrants trying to disrupt the service.

In what way? Gare du Nord is a lot closer to the city centre than Charles de Gaulle.
Might be doing something wrong. Can't seem to find anything lower than 79. Unless it hasn't been updated yet

I love the Musée d'Orsay and the mansion where Rodin lived at the end of his life contains an unrivalled collection of the sculptor’s work.

Nope, I still wouldn't go even if you paid me.
Great destinations for a city trip, however, be careful with pick pockets and bag snatchers. I was robbed at Brussels on the train a few years ago. Then the rate was at Brussels of robbery resulting in loss of passport was once or twice a week, I don't know rate per week if including other crime and losses against the Brits. If you did get robbed of your passport, just go to Eurostar help desk at the terminal and you will be taken to the English side of customs and someone can look up on system to bring up a digital record of your passport and then ask you a "secret" question before you are let through without a passport back to London, such as,"name of person who countersigned your passport" (example of a question).

This is a good price but I don't think its amazing, I paid that for my trip next January without their being a sale (unless the sale was online early, I booked a week ago). I still massively prefer Eurostar to flying, just got to hope the line is clear!

Tight fisted pompous knob much?
If you can, use the French website, it gives tickets for 43€ instead of £32 which makes £30.38 and there is no extra fee for paying with a credit card unlike the UK website.
More expensive than standard Euro* website for tickets to Lille

Yet another well thought out answer.
Not a bad deal, but not the best deal either... remember it used to be £59 return...
Tickets £34.50 each for April dates ( £39.50 returning on a Friday ) is more suitable to me . Heat added
Good deal - but bought tickets last week - tickets with better timings on same days would now cost me £40 less - but standard tickets are non-refundable and charge £30 for any changes, so not best pleased.
So much for their helpful advice on the Eurostar web pages - "Be an early bird. You’ll generally find cheap Eurostar tickets the earlier you book, and you can snap up tickets 120 days before you travel. So plan ahead for the best deals."
If you are under 25, there are youth tickets for £29.5 each way (£59 return) for the same dates! Just a £5 saving but it's something

Isn't it the standard price when booking early?
Be warned if you have a non-folding bike. You now have to disassemble and re-assemble it at each end so don't forget the spanners! If you have a folder you are now supposed to put in a case!

This is apparently because of the new 'improved' trains. Madness.

Make sure you book tickets in advance of visiting otherwise you'll be in a queue stretching back around the square and beyond!

We arrived at around 9am on a Friday morning in January and queues were off the scale so went to the Musee d'Orsay instead (although was pretty dull)

Wow what a hidden gem! The Louvre? Must be new or something because I've never heard of it.

In other news, people should check out the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe...

Even then, time taken to go through security etc and the convenience of being deposited in the centre of Paris... I live near Heathrow and I only ever take the Eurostar.
I'm far from a trainspotter, but I've always wanted a trip on the Eurostar. Shame I'd have to fly from Belfast so it's defeating the point!
