I seem to remember that this was £23 last year. £40 seems quite high.

£23 return or £23 one way?

There was indeed a special offer for £20 return last year but that was part of the special 20th anniversary celebration.

I went in February for £33 return so cold for me.

Ideal for pre-christmas shopping? Maybe if you live in Southern England yeah.

Gutted - just booked a return trip for November... with this I'd have saved about 20 quid booking two day returns and only using half the journey legs... mugged off.

Well obviously. I think that readers could decide that themselves.

Anybody know any deals for Eurostar?

you cant book two day returns and only use 1 leg because when you dont return same day you get charged full price to return, prob about 60 euros so you did ok...

To ask a stupid question do you just stay in the car while your car is on the train?

many years ago my old man tried that, he got back ok but received a letter a few weeks later stating that they knew what he did, and if he tried it again he'd be charged for it

voted hot as there is some money saved but im disappointed its not the usual 1/2 price offer, i guessed they'd do an offer before Xmas so ive been waiting for this, but il only be saving £6 as its £23 e/w for the times i travel at

yes, you can get out to stretch your legs, they have toilets onboard

Was £22 or thereabouts last year and the year before, so not such a great deal I think.
As for the asylum seekers, the young people I seen wondering around the streets last month did not look as if they were escaping from anywhere. Well dressed and confident that the French police were no threat.

the 3 hour minimum stay is a bit of a drag, it only takes me ~90 mins round trip from Calais to Belgium and back to get my allowance of Tobacco and fill up with £1/ltr diesel, its not worth stopping off anywhere else for beers as the supermarkets over here in the UK can be cheaper,
also at the french terminal they have got rid of Le Quick burger and replaced it with Burger king

Still going to the Christmas Markets though. So much better than here.

Calling an asylum seeker 'scum' is not very humane, because they are "a … Calling an asylum seeker 'scum' is not very humane, because they are "a person who, from fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, social group, or political opinion, has crossed an international frontier into a country in which he or she hopes to be granted refugee status". You shouldn't discriminate someone because they are less fortunate than you.

And how many international safe borders have they crossed in order to get here, the only reason they flock here is for the benefits bestowed upon them by our stupid system.
