Like Google Cardboard but made of foam. Has the magnet for games.
Good if you want something that will last a bit longer than cardboard as most of the plastic Google cardboard style headsets are rubbish.

VR minion edition
Nope you just look. The lenses take care of the focusing. Normal 3D videos work well. The VR stuff works well too, it's fairly immersive, but can be a little disorientating if you do it too long.
You put your smartphone in it and hold it to your face. You can use it to watch 3D videos or use it for Virtual Reality, where you can move your head to look around just like you're really there.
something like this from gearbest for £6.57 delivered is a far better option

I have a plastic one a bit like that, the trouble with the plastic ones is the screen is further away so you lose immersion (narrow field of view) a bit, it's a bit like viewing the world with binoculars. A fix for the sore nose is sticky backed velcro (the soft side) stick it where the nose ridge is and where the forehead goes to stop sweat marks on the cardboard
This is the one I have, but I dont recommend it:

Anyone know of a decent plastic viewer thats comfy and decent fov ?
Like bazray said, nearly all of the plastic ones (I've tried most of the different designs) are not as immersive as they lose the field of view, especially the adjustable ones. Most of the ones I tried didn't have the magnet and hurt my nose. Just read the Amazon reviews for them.
Until a plastic one comes out that keeps to the proper Google cardboard dimensions I'll stick to the cardboard (or perhaps this foam) one.
If ordering from China the cardboard ones are like $3 so you can get a few.
Nope unfortunately, I've ordered and returned most of the ones on amazon. The colorcross has good FOV but costs a lot, hurts to wear and has no button.
There are a few new ones I've been meaning to try but I don't hold much hope.
Hi There, Do you know the item from gearbest, is that an official google Cardboard product? Does it come with QR code?
